I have been researching and using the qualities of the essential oils in my personal skin care routine. I’ve got some insights from doing so and would like to share the known benefits of the essential oils and how they could benefit your own skin care routine.
My Golden Dozen of Essential Oils for the Face and Skin
Essential oils have proved themselves as powerful anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-fungal mediums. A lot of them are used for a variety of skin care concerns like acne and eczemas. But what are those oils that are OK to use in our regular skin care routine for the face and body?
Organic Rosehip Oil
This organic Rosehip essential oil is one of my favorites. It is a carrier oil as well as a potent mechanism to boost any woman’s skin care regimen!
This oil is filled with vitamim C that is critical during collagen production. The oil is also rich in retinoids that help brighten your skin and support its truly anti-aging functioning.
By the way, currently, retinoid therapy for women is one of the leading movements in dermatology. Everybody wants the best skin care results. Retinoids are the leading ingredient in the skin care to support the youth and longevity of the skin.

Roman Chamomile Essential Oil
For those with dry skin, this Roman Chamomile essential oil could go a long way. Using one of the carrier oils, you can dilute this essential oil and use it to hydrate and revitalize your skin.
Grapefruit Essential Oil
This Grapefruit essential oil is especially good for those with oily skin or hair. In fact, it is one of the best essential oils for acne. It can be easily added to other essential oils to produce a desirable combo effect.
I love this essential oil not just for its refreshing aroma. It is also an incredible companion for lifting the mood and fight acne. Mixing a few drops of this oil into my cream or lotion has been a routine for years now.
As far as aromatherapy, I use grapefruit essential oil in a diffuser during the day when I am at work. It creates a refreshing citrus smell which lifts my mood and allows me to feel more focused with a positive feeling inside.
Rose Essential Oil
The rose essential oil is a multitasker! It helps to moisturize your skin, thus supporting its youthful look. This oil has been used for centuries to nourish, hydrate and heal the skin issues. Sweet Orange Essential Oil

When it comes to using this oil in your skin care regimen, it goes nicely with the body cream. As it is high in beta-caryophyllene, it boasts of its anti-inflammatory properties. Beta-caryophyllene is terpene which acts as a cannabinoid. It doesn’t mean you will get high from it! No. Rather what it really means is that copaiba oil helps to reduce chemicals that cause oxidative stress, known as free radicals.
For skin care, it is super important to be protected from oxidative stress and function with more effectiveness. Beta-caryophyllene delivers oxygen molecules to cells, too! What a unique chemical found in many essential oils like copaiba!

Rosemary Essential Oil
This essential oil is a must-have when it comes to healing and keeping the scalp skin in great health. Rosemary essential oil helps to support blood flow to the scalp which can stimulate hair growth. Thus, adding to your hair care routine regularly is a given. I do it once a month.
Hair Mask Recipe #1
Add a few drops of essential oil (3 to 5 drops depending on your sensitivity to the smell) to the carrier oil (I use 1/4 cup coconut oil) and massage into the scalp. Wait for about 10-15 minutes while you are showering and wash off the hair mask. Follow with a hair conditioner.
Hair Mask Recipe #2
Or mix 1/4 cup of avocado and jojoba oil with 4-5 drops of rosemary essential oil. Massage the oil mask into your hair and wait for about 15 minutes before showering it off. Follow with a hair conditioner.
Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil
Definitely, this essential oil is a must-have for many different reasons. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiseptic and anti-seborrheic properties, ylang-ylang essential oil is an effective tool to include into a skin regimen to improve skin’s complexion and to treat various conditions. Yes, you can use this oil on your face when it is mixed with other carrier oils or your favorite lotion or cream.

Why is it Important to Dilute Essential Oils Before Use?
