Ready to embrace some of the top hair and skin care tips for the warmest part of the year? Summer beauty makeover tips sound easy, yet they are the key to your personal well-being and immaculate looks. The look is a bit bolder and more daring than in seasons past. It doesn’t require a whole arsenal of new products or techniques. But it does take a willingness to depart from your tried-and-true hot-weather makeup and hair regimens.
Try at least a couple of these new tweaks, courtesy of celebrity makeup artist Tasha Reiko Brown. You’ll be surprised how effortlessly modern they look and feel.
Skip the Lip Gloss this Summer
Instead, apply creamy color straight from the tube. Choose lipstick with a satin finish in bright sorbet colors like neon peach, raspberry, cotton-candy pink, lush melon.
“Satin formulas pack a lot of pigment,” says Tasha Reiko Brown, “but they’re a lot friendlier than matte lipsticks.”
Matte may be a favorite on the fashion runways, but because the formulation lacks shine, it can look severe and dry on small lips and too intense on full lips.
To improve the texture of your lips, you may want to use a natural lip scrub. You can make this Lips Sugar and Honey Scrub in your kitchen!

Nano Silver Technology for Oral Care
Beautiful lips are impossible without a proper oral care. Fresh mouth breath is always a positive in any company. In fact, it is the indication of good health and care.
One of the indications of good oral health is body’s natural remineralization process. It can only happen in the neutral pH environment. If your mouth cavity consistently lives in the acidic rain of saliva, researchers say that an acidic mouth disrupts the body’s natural remineralization process.
Did you know that the majority of mouthwashes make our oral cavity highly acidic? I did not think about it until I’ve discovered Elementa’s Nano Silver oral care products.
It is not that I was not familiar with nano silver technology. It is the area of its use and the benefits that truly amazed me. Without doubt, summer beauty makeover tips would be incomplete without a fresh breath and appropriate oral care.
Benefits of Nano Silver Mouth Rinse
All Elementa’s mouth rinses and tooth gels return the oral environment to its balanced pH status, hence encouraging natural remineralization of the teeth. Safe for our well-being, these products are invaluable! Here are their top benefits for the oral health.
– Encourage natural remineralization of the teeth by neutralizing oral acid
– Formulated with plant-based safe ingredients: Nano Silver, Calcium, Xylitol, Natural Flavor, and Water
– Kill bacteria causing bad breath
– Soothe dry mouth
– Whiten teeth naturally
You can buy these products on Amazon or in your local health food store.

Difference Between Nano Silver and Colloidal Silver
The main difference between the nano and colloidal silver lies in a size of their particles. Nano silver has much smaller and consistent in size particles. These two characteristics give the nano silver products sort of gold color. The absorption of the blue light by the small particles ranging between 400-420 nanometers creates a solution of gold color.
Colloidal silver has larger in size particles, and the size of those particles is inconsistent. Hence colloidal silver products do not have that gold color solution.
Put Down the Bronzer
A summer staple, bronzer is taking a vacation this year. In its place, a straight-from-the-orchard burst of fruity color.
When you are looking for a brilliant summer beauty makeover for skin, swap winter’s rosy hues for peach, berry and tangerine. To make sure these shades look fresh rather than clownish, apply the color right on the apple of your cheeks.
Choose a gel or cream blush instead of a powder, and look for a finish that doesn’t have any shimmer to it.
“You want the wash of color to melt right into your skin without any contouring or hard lines so it looks soft and natural,” says Ms. Brown.
Quit the Smoky eyes
Summer makeup looks shouldn’t be challenging to create in your home environment!
If you’ve never quite mastered those multi-step smoky eye tutorials, here’s good news. It’s out of fashion this season and is replaced by a foolproof wash of color from lash line to crease. Choose a melon, light gray, or citrusy lemon or lime hue. Apply with a fluffy eye shadow brush.
Lighten Up on Lashes in your Summer Makeup Looks
While there’s not an actual back-lash taking place, fringes are getting a little less showy this summer. The fact is that summer beauty makeover tips cannot bypass your lashes.
“If you do a really heavy lash with the colorful wash of shadow, you’re going to end up with a look that’s ‘80s rather than current,” says Tasha. “You want to keep your lashes clean and defined.” Just curl and apply two coats of your favorite mascara to your top lashes.
Embrace Your Hair’s Natural Texture
The flat iron is banned this summer, says Brown. Instead, the coolest look for those hot days is an off-the-face, pulled-back hairstyle that tames – but doesn’t totally subdue – your hair’s texture.
For some step-by-step summer hair style tutorials check my post.
If you need the hair products to fight frizz and improve the growth, then check out Natural Hair Care Products with Seaweed and Algae!
Smooth your hair with a light styling cream that will hold it in place. Then, gather into a classic ballerina bun. Now, run your hands over your hair toward your face, freeing up the short pieces that don’t make it into the bun. Spritz with a shine spray for a polished finish. The end result: on-purpose texture instead of out-of-control frizz.
And if you’ve never heard or done scalp facials, then it’s time to discover it! The benefits are super big for your hair.
If you need the how-to’s in a detailed way, here’s my post about an effective scalp facial.

This is a great set of products! Your post was extremely helpful.
I am so checking out those Nano Silver products for oral health! Love that and also glad to see to put away the lip gloss…. I love the look but get annoyed when my hair blows not my lips LOL!
I am looking for more ways to take care of my teeth and this oral kit you listed sounds really benifical. Thank you for sharing all of these tips.
I love the sound of a scalp facial and have not heard of that idea before – off to find out more!
I’ve never been massively into bronzer or smoky eyes so looks like I’m ready for summer haha. Some great tips, I had no idea the difference between Nano Silver and Colloidal Silver x
That is very interesting about the nano silver. I have used colloidal silver products before, and I didn’t realize there were nano silver products out there. I struggle with dental issues and it sounds like a useful line of products.
These summer beauty makeover tips are fantastic! I love the idea of using satin lipsticks in bright sorbet colors for a fresh look. The tips on oral care with nano silver technology are intriguing, and the hair care advice is spot-on. Can’t wait to try these out for a fabulous summer! ???
These are awesome tips for the summer! I personally love a satin finish lipstick all year round!
I love embracing a more natural look for summer! Great tips here…thank you!
I’m not sure I could do without my straightener all summer long. I am looking to embrace the natural waves/curls more so my hair gets a rest.
Thanks for your tips, I hadn’t heard of Nano silver mouth rinse before, I think I will get some and give it a try.
Great tips here! IL make sure to skip and switch the lipgloss and put down the bronzer!
I’ve never known that about your mouth! Wow those nano products look so cool!
Melanie,
This is not a new technology. It’s just that not many companies use it in the personal care yet.
Also, check out the Elementa lipsticks. They are super soft and offer extra protection from outside pathogens.
That is the worst news ever – I was just starting to get a hang of those smokey eyes
Renata,
I would stick to what you LOVE and enjoy doing.
That is what the trend says. However, you are your own beautiful person.
I would stick with it if you absolutely adore your new look!
I love these Summer makeup tips. Smokey eyes are definitely not the way to go in the Summer time. You’ll end up sweating and it’ll just be too much.
Jasmine,
There are so many beauty trends that I’ve mentioned only a few.
What I find for myself is that even those women who stick to their favorite beauty techniques are doing just fine and enjoy their life.
Who says that white after Labor Day is a no-no? I wear white when I want, and it is year round, if I wish!
I think the main thing is to enjoy life, establish your own routine and go with it.
These trends amuse me, and I actually enjoy looking into them to see what’s “new” this or that season.
I find that “new” is the coming back of the “old.” Let’s have fun with these trends!
This is so helpful, thanks for the great info friend!
Krysten,
I enjoy following the news of different trends, as they totally prove the point that anything “new” is the come-back from years back.
Hence, it is so important to establish our own freedom to choose and use what we enjoy and have fun with it.
Thank you for these wonderful tips! I will definitely try this.
Great tips! First time to hear about Nano Silver, and it sounds like a good one to try.
I will check this out. Thank you!
Gervin,
Yes, this is one of the best products out there.
I have not seen anything like Elementa.
Plus, check out their lipsticks. Amazing flavors that offer extra protection from outside pathogens.
never heard of nano silver before! so curious to try. thanks for the tip. and yes no gloss for me as well this summer (and because of masks here too)
Lyosha,
Nano silver is not a new technology. It’s just not many companies incorporate it into their personal care or beauty products.
But Elementa is totally a top notch, quality brand to use. And very affordable, too.
These are great tips for the summer. Always looking to minimizing the amount of products I apply to my face in the summer.
Fatima,
You said it! Minimum of beauty products on the face can be beautiful.
So agree with skipping smoky eyes and glossy lips this summer. It just doesn’t feel right.
Kathy,
I really like the combo of the matte and gloss in lipsticks.
I usually wear very little make-up in summer because it’s so hot that it tends to melt off my face. Sugar scrubs for lips are a life savior, especially after a day long in the sun.
Joanna,
I adore my DIY for scrubs and parfaits. So refreshing and reforming.
These makeover tips sound absolutely helpful! They’re all perfect for the summer, thanks for sharing these with us!
Summer is a bit tricky when it comes to the skin, hair and makeup. Knowing what’s going on in these areas could be very helpful in supporting our own decision-making.

Marie,
This is the time to figure out some stuff about your own routine.
Thank you for those great tips – I am no fan of fake lashes so am glad it’s not fashionable anymore 🙂
Renata,
I am not a lash wearer, but I know a ton of friends who adore them.
Oooh I need to try out some of these tips. I appreciate you sharing them with us! Thanks!
Krysten,
I am testing the ones I publish. In the summer, I focus on my skin and hair care.
These are some really great tips. In the summer time I am very minimal when it comes to makeup and go for a more natural look. Its so hot here in Louisiana in the summer I would rather be comfortable.
Ashley,
Same here. I am focusing on skin care and sun protection. Plus, hair pampering.
Wow so many great tips, I love Sun bum products they are sooo great. I don’t really wear makeup but I wear lots of sunscreen.

Gervin,
This is just a quick guide to see if these tips really apply to you.
Glad you enjoyed them.
I think these are some really good ideas. I agree with smokey eye thing too. I don’t think that is much of a summer thing either.
Ha, ha, Kathy,
Smokey eyes are in and out all the time. We’ll see what the fashion world will come up next season!
These are good tips. I usually dont do skincare in the summer but should.
Tara,
I find that the skin is doing well when we pay attention to at any season.
I have a simple routine year round, but I do change things around based on the season and my skin needs.
This summer I did use different skin care products. I used some face oils instead of my thick creams.
I am soooo happy that smokey eye is out of fashion this season. I NEVER was able to get it quite right. It was passable, but it wasn’t stellar.
Claudia,
You are not alone! I’ve been trying out this stuff for many times, but then left as is!
These are excellent tips. I’ve already started backing off my use of false lashes. For me, it was just a matter of being tired of messing with them, but I did notice that I liked the look better.
Brianne,
Nothing wrong with the longer lashes. If you like them – wear them. It’s just doing it every single day does wear out your skin and your own lashes.
