4-Ingredient Easy Foot Scrub
Peppermint will sooth your skin and will stop the growth of any bacteria on the top of the skin. Essential peppermint oil is also found to stop the growth of fungus.
Blackberries are a rich source of vitamins A, B, C, E, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, potassium, copper, iron and more. These magnificent berries contain antioxidants, glucose, sucrose, fructose, carotene, ascorbic, citric, salicylic and other acids. Using them on skin will add the anti-oxidant powers to your skin and the acids in the berries will allow to eliminate all the dead cells collecting and layering on top of each other.
The coconut oil is the ultimate skin soother! Use it regularly, and you will be a proud wearer of baby-like skin.
I like to use raw sugar in this foot scrub recipe. The idea of this recipe is to moisturize and retain the moisture content within the skin. But did you know that raw sugar, being less processed, retains some of the molasses and moisture from the plant? And that’s what we are looking for and needing desperately!
Please note that Raw Sugar is not a Brown Sugar. Brown sugar is refined white sugar with different amounts of molasses added for the taste.

Gloria,
Essential oils act as a preservative!
I make small batches. This amount lasts me about a week, as I use it on my feet every other day.
When in doubt – store in the fridge! But it won’t go bad or rancid!
I enjoy making and using foot scrubs. I’d just be a bit wary of the berries staining.

Does this need to be refrigerated? How long before it needs to be used up, i.e. what is the shelf life?
Elizab,
This scrub does NOT call for refrigeration! Essential oils act as a preservative.
I mix up mine and leave it in the shower in a jar with a tight lid.
I use it as long as it lasts, did not have any issues ever.
