Importance of Peptides for Menopause Skin Changes

You already know that I am focusing mainly on the skin during menopause and effective methods, tools, and lifestyle choices to improve and thwart its decline in quality and performance. That is why skin care products with different active ingredients aka performance ingredients are some of my favorite topics to explore.

Let’s talk about Peptides when they are used as skin ingredients. Peptides are short chains of amino acids that could play different roles, thus produce different effects on the skin’s functioning and looks.

As a rule, before you begin designing your skin care routine, you need to know your personal skin’s needs. And knowing such needs comes from understanding the menopause key aging indicators. You can read the detailed post on that, I will just use the parts that apply to the peptide topic.

Peptides And Moisture Retention

One of the leading aging skin indicators during menopause is dry and/or dehydrated skin. These are actually two different things, but they one thing in common – consistent loss of water from the surface of the skin. It is called TransEpiderman Water Loss (TEWL).

The reasons behind such drafting skin dryness or dehydration could be several. The dry skin is the direct effect of the hormonal change of estrogen. The less estrogen circulates in your blood during peri- and menopause, the more skin becomes atrophied. Hence the sooner you realize that your skin needs a good, well-sustained skin care regimen, the less casualties you’ll encounter along the way.

Peptides, when combined with other moisturizing ingredients, may help improve the skin’s ability to retain moisture. This can be beneficial in addressing dryness and promoting a healthier skin barrier.

Peptides Reduce the Appearance of Wrinkles

Another significant aging skin indicator during menopause is wrinkles and fine lines. These visual properties appear on the face, neck and decollete areas due to a drastic decline of the “magical” youth proteins elastin and collagen.

When you see more lines crossing your facial features, it could be one of these ‘a-ha’ moments that the time has come to take action and begin skin care. It is always a welcome choice to treat your skin with respect and care no matter how late or early in life you begin doing it. Skin is an ever grateful organ that responds fairly quickly to your love and consistent care.

Certain peptides may signal the skin to produce more collagen, which can contribute to smoother and firmer skin, potentially minimizing the appearance of wrinkles while maintaining skin elasticity and firmness. Thus such peptides promote skin renewal and so much looked for “anti-aging” effect.

Peptides for Uneven Skin Tone and Hyperpigmentation

In fact, peptides are often included in skincare products for their potential anti-aging benefits. Some peptides may have antioxidant properties and can help reduce oxidative stress on the skin.

As certain Peptides lower inflammation and stress within the skin’s structure, the skin is able to recover faster and avoid the nasty things like hyperpigmentation and slow healing process. Antioxidants have the power to do it all! They’re just not as flashy as other ingredients. But the work that antioxidants perform 24/7 is the key to your skin’s integrity, and youthful looks and functioning at the top.

With skin, it helps to remember this: Some ingredients do not have an immediate Notice Line™, when you see results asap, like in the case when you take a headache pill. But what you need to understand is that regular, consistent skin care would materialize one day into the skin you’ve always dreamed about. Patience and enjoyment of your daily skin care are some of the necessary ingredients you may keep handy as well.

Luxe Beauty Collagen & Peptide Night Cream

Without saying, using non-toxic ingredients in any skincare product is an ante in today’s market. As an educated and sophisticated consumer, you should be able to identify toxic vs. non-toxic ingredients. This is not a rocket science. When you know what to look for in any skin care product, you’ll be able quickly scan an Ingredients List for any unwanted “members.”

With all the above said about Peptides and their multi-functional properties, I would like to introduce you and your menopause skin to Luxe Beauty Collagen & Peptide Night Cream, check it out HERE.
