A Mother’s Love Goes Far Beyond ONE Day
Although Valentine’s Day is our day to celebrate those we love, a mother’s love goes beyond just one day in the year. One of her greatest loves on Earth is her love for her children.
There are MANY reasons that a mother’s role is the center and most important to a child as they grow up. As a foster mom, I have seen first hand how a mother’s love effects a child! When my daughter was first brought into our care over two years ago, at 18 months old, she was pretty much lifeless. Unable to show love, had enormous fears, and was unable to communicate; yet, as a mother, I knew all she needed was love and security!
Through my journey, I have been able to spot 5 reasons a mother’s love is so vital in the lives of her children.
Here Are My Top 5 Reasons Of Importance Of Mother’s Love
1. Psychological Factors
Although some mental health concerns are hereditary, there are a lot of issues that arise due to the trauma and lack of love one receives at an early age. Having a mother to be a constant place of comfort, encouragement and a listening ear helps create a calm within a child resulting in a solid foundation to build upon as they grow. A hug every day goes a LONG way to a child’s mental health! It is even proven in fighting depression!
2. Physical Expression of the Body With And Without Love
Have you noticed some children just tend to carry themselves differently than others? A true mother’s love gives a child the self-confidence to rise above their peers. When our daughter first came into our home, she kept her head down. After 2 years of love, she now smiles, laughs and holds her head much higher with the confidence that she can do anything she puts her mind to!
3. Creative juices a mother gives a child for any conceivable or inconceivable dream
Seeing a lifeless child become so full of imagination has been so amazing to watch. Giving your child unconditional love will give them the security to feel they CAN dream big!
4. Creating A Higher Self-Esteem
Naturally as a mother, watching your child accomplish big or small tasks allows sincere praise to flow fluently out of your mouth. Between constant encouragement and even expecting responsibility, your child’s self-esteem grows far greater than you could expect.
5. Ease of Social Integration And Building Connections In Life
Your child will be watching even when you least expect it. They will see how you respond to others. In doing so, your child will begin to learn how to socially interact with others. He/she will learn how to treat their spouse, their friends, co-workers and even their parents! Make sure YOUR relationships are how you would like for your child’s future relationships to be. They ARE watching and learning from every comment and every action!

Awww, I miss my mother. It has been over a year since the last time I saw her. Definitely, agree that mother’s love goes beyond Valentine’s day.
A mother’s love is great, I haven’t seen mine in 15 months as I’ve been abroad but I can’t wait to see her when I go back home
I love this and its this is true. My kids are getting older and I’m certainly trying to soak up all the love and cuddles I can get.
Your so true, there’s nothing like a mothers love!! The hugs and unconditional love is priceless.
cute photos! I agree with you on this, a mothers love is one of the best gifts to give a child, it brings out the best in the kid…There’s just something so special about that loving relationship that touches the core of her mini-me : )
This is such a great post! I’m not a mom, but hopefully I will be one day.
It truly amazes me to see how much children emulate their parents. I have seen it time and again. When a parent does something repeatedly, sure enough the child will do it too. That’s why it is so important that we show our children only healthy habits.
These pictures are so cute, cutest love bug ever! 🙂 I have tried to encourage Valentines day to be about love and we share that day with our kids. Being a Mom is such an honor and it is such an important job.
A parent’s love is so important. There’s even a noticeable difference in children who feel they only have the love of one parent and not the other. I adore this post!
The cutest ever, I love her smile. I miss when my klids were little and would wear costumes like this.
Knowing how important it is to have a healthy relationship with our mothers, your post is so spot on! The costume is just too cute! Make me wish I have a daughter 🙂
Mothering never stops, whether you have infants or grown adults. My mom still treats us like we are little kids and would be on the phone asking if we’re home yet, or what we want for dinner. I am a mom and grandmother myself, and there is nothing more heartwarming than to see your children grow up to be loving, respectful and responsible adults – because of the love and nurturing you gave them.
Love Love Love this post! And so happy that your little girl knows she is loved and it shines through. She is so adorable!
Most of what we learn comes from our mothers, so it’s important for us as moms to instill those good qualities in them early on.
Imparting a healthy self-esteem to our children is so important. It’s amazing what the love of a mom can do. It makes a world of difference when children know they are loved unconditionally.
