Do you like sports cars? If you answered “Yes,” Mazda MX-5 could be a fun car to drive and enjoy! I was given an opportunity to celebrate the Third Generation of Mazda MX-5 or better known as Miata by driving this baby for some time and check out new features of this sporty, racy car.
To go down a memory lane, the First Generation of Mazda MX-5 Miata was launched in 1989 at the Chicago Auto Show. It was a 1990 Model which had a 5-speed manual transmission with a 4-speed automatic available as an option.
The 1999 Model of the Mazda MX-5 Miata had some significant improvements in the design to make the interior more comfy and more attractive for drivers. This Second Miata Generation had a new heated glass rear window vs the plastic one in the 1st generation. It also replaced the the pop-up headlights with a faired-in design. Improvements in speed and acceleration were also added to the new model.
With the 2006 Model of Mazda MX-5 Miata, there were so many major improvements within this classic sporty car!
• A new 16-valve, 2.0-litre MZR I-4 engine
• 5-Speed or 6-Speed manual transmission or 166-horsepower, 6-speed automatic transmission
Every major component of the car was thoroughly revised or new.
What I love about Miata is that it accelerates well. It is a fun car for short trips that like speed.
Like any other Mazda, Miata is a SAFETY-driven car. Design provides for the following features:
• Advanced dual front and side impact air bags
• Tire Pressure Monitoring System
• Anti-Lock Brake System with Electronic Brake Distribution
• Dynamic Stability Control
• Side-impact door beams
The interior design has lots of features that make a ride a luxurious one!
• Fog Lights
• Air conditioning with Pollen Filter
• Door net pockets with bottle holders>
• Available steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls
• Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry System>
• Suspension Package
• Bluetooth hands-free technology that allows to keep our eyes on the road
Miata is a Fun car. It does call for its driver who loves speed and some nifty race car accommodations while driving! Younger drivers might enjoy it more. But there are a lot of Miata fans who cherish their memories of old days by remembering fun drives in their First and Second generations MX-5.
Cherish your memories by remembering what car you drove! Zoom-zoom!

This would be a fun car to drive on the weekend! 🙂
Wow! Lucky you! I would love to drive this so cool ride! Even just for a day.. 🙂
Gorgeous car! I could use a fun, sporty car like that, ha ha ha!
I’ve test driven, but it’s so small. I tend to choose more sedan/ muscle type cars than really small cars… it’s a need for speed thing. lol. The Miata handles somewhat similar to a Mini Cooper ad really low to the ground. It’s decent, but not my type of car… lol
What a cool car! I would love to be able to drive that at the Pacific Coast here (the roads are straighter than through the Andes). I bet we could go pretty fast!
I love this car! I have always wanted a Miata! so funny!
That is one very nice looking car. I would love to have one of these.
Looks like a fun little car! My aunt used to have a miata and absolutely loved it.
Awesome looking car.
What a super nice car!
My husband would definitely like this sports car.. It’s certainly nice to have a convertible during warmer months. 🙂
Looks like a super fun car to drive, maybe one day I will own something like this. But as a family of five it would never work
Last winter my dad surprised us with his new Mazda Miata. He has wanted one for 24 years and finally got one. It is a amazing little car. Smooth ride and comfortable seats make it very enjoyable to drive.
The car looks so adorable & stunning. From your review, I can see that Mazda MX-5 has some great features & the best choice for car lovers to have a great sporty ride as well.
I would not mind having that sporty vehicle one bit. Especially now that the weather is cooler, I could totally see myself taking rides around FL.
It is a fun car! It’s a nice looking car too. I could see myself taking summer beach trips in it.
This is one cool ride! My husband likes sports cars, so I’m pretty sure he’d like this model. 🙂
I wanted a convertible before I had children. It wouldn’t be large enough for my family’s needs now but I think it looks great.
This is a great looking car. I would love to drive it just for fun. I couldn’t buy this car because I have a family to haul around. 😉
What a great looking car. Looks like it would be great to drive on a nice sunny fall day.
The Mazda Miata is loaded with features. It also has a nice design.
That looks like quite a drive! I’d love to drop the roof and cruise town in it this weekend!
That is one nice looking car! I’m 23 and still don’t have a license.
I love all the features! Sadly I couldn’t have a car like this! With 2 little boys I’m stuck driving bigger cars for awhile 🙂
