Ignite Your Imagination with Sleeping Beauty Characters
Blu-Ray & Digital Edition Released October 7, 2014
Having a privilege to tour Disney Estates and meet performers and creators of the most beloved Disney features like Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent was a highlight of my life. The trip was saturated with in-depth conversations, interviews, tours, meetings and finally, the learning and familiarization of one of the most complex processes ever – Film Making.
What we rarely see after the movie has been done is the deleted scenes, even characters, and the abundance of the material that has been created as the building blocks to come up and finish with the best quality and story telling ever.
In this point of history, Disney is doing a marvelous job of bringing to light and to viewers enjoyment as much of that “hidden” content as possible. With every release of digitally enhanced edition of a Disney feature, we receive a Bonus section of the materials that were either changed, enhanced, deleted or simply recovered during the current restoration of Disney archives.
David Jessen, the VP Enhanced Content, and his Team are the people who are bringing to life interesting content and features to celebrate on DVD editions and at all Disney parks. His responsibility is to ensure that viewers and Disney visitors would get the cutting edge high-definition quality of all Disney materials.
Obviously, there’s more than just quality of viewing. The content and its expansion to keep our interest on and curiosities peaked for amazing gems from Disney are the responsibilities of this creative Team from the Disney Studios.
Today, October 7, 2014, is the day of Blu-Ray and Digital Edition Release of a Sleeping Beauty. Check out the wealth of the Bonus features when you bring this amazing Disney Classic home to share with your kids and family!
During the Disney tour, we met Sarah Hyland, who is well-known for her Modern Family character, who is playing Amy in the Bonus Feature of the Sleeping Beauty “Once Upon the Parade.” In a Creative way, Sarah narrates a story of the history behind the Walt Disney World’s Festival of Fantasy Parades.
UPDATE: The YouTube videos were made private, so it’s impossible to watch them at this moment.
FUN FACT: Sarah came up with her own costume of a peasant girl in this bonus feature that was totally cool and creative on her part. Here’s a Fantasy Parade sneak peak clip.
For those of you who are fascinated with Maleficent that was based on Sleeping Beauty, here’s a clip with Andreas Deja, Marc Davis, and Lino DiSalvo talking about a striking beauty of creating this character in Sleeping Beauty. The clip is titled “Art of Maleficent.”
Whatever your fascination is about Disney movies, Sleeping Beauty is one more example of the extraordinary creative thought and immaculate implementation that lives on forever. Take a chance to own your own copy of the Blu Ray Diamond Edition of the Sleeping Beauty today!

Ahhhh Sleeping Beauty I really loved what they did with the movie with Angelie Jolie. A slight twist to the movie still made her sort of mean, but yet nice this way there’s now real evil in Disney’s films… love it.

Thanks for sharing this info, I had no idea this was coming out finally!

I wish Disney was more open about these deleted scenes with all their movies. There’s no shame in hiding the cretaive process from the audience!
