My doggie is a rescue.. All 4 of mine are…
We adopted both our furbabies.
My dog is a rescue. She is so timid and scared and was at the shelter. She was set to be euthanizied as a “red line” because she supposedly attacked a duck. I sprung her free and she’s been a great family dog since.
We got our cat as a kitten from a neighbor.
We adopted Artie after we saw him on Petfinder.com
I adopted her from my local animal shelter. I am her 4th home. She’s a good girl.
We have 2 rescue dogs and a private breeder dog. I will only get rescue dogs going forward

I adopted my pup.
We found our puppy wondering in the middle of a busy intersection, I got out of my car and he ran up to me (it was love at first sight) I went looking for an owner for a few days, and no one came around to claim him, so we got to keep him. My daughters named him Pepper!
Spot is our first dogs puppy and was born here.
We got our dog from a private person.
We got our dogs from a private breeder and our cats from people giving them away and adoption.
Both of mine are from breeders.
both my dogs are rescues. one from the street the other from a shelter.
How did you meet your incredible pet: Adopted?
bought from a breeder. Although all of my children have adopted from shelters, and that is what I would do next
We knew my dog’s previous owners. They couldn’t take care of him anymore, so they gave him to us
My older cat is the daughter of my previous cat. My younger cat was adopted from a local shelter.
My boyfriend was given his dog outside a store in a parking lot, thank goodness he helped rescue him.
Two of my Boston’s came from previous owners who no longer wanted them. Our youngest one was a foster failure!
We adopted one of our dogs from the shelter, got one from a breeder, and got my two cats from my parents (they had found a stray that had kittens.).
The first one we adopted him from a shelter, the second one we got her as a baby from someone looking for homes for them, and the third we found him on the street, but we found his owners. They decided to let us keep him because they couldn’t afford taking care of him and we were doing a better job than they were.
I adopted my little baby love of our life
We got our puppy from a neighbor who breeds chihuahuas. We just lost our 10 year old dog and were completely heartbroken, she has helped us heal a lot, I don’t know if I could live in a home without a dog.
We adopted her from a rescue group who brought her to town from a remote shelter.
All of our cats were strays
I met my beautiful doxie Belle at a local breeder in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has an identical brother (but smaller than her in size) named Scooter who belongs to my brother.
Got him at an animal. Name is Lucy. Such a good friend.
I got my dog from a previous owner. 😀
My oldest Maya was from a breeder, the other two are from a shelter and a breed rescue.
we adopted her
I took her from a previous owner.
I rescued my sweet Taz 5 years ago. She was not at all being taken care of at 3 months old and was so close to her own demise. I instantly felt a click with her and was not going to leave her there with her owner. I offered to pay her light bill so her power wouldn’t be shut off because this person has 3young children. Needless to say, we are still clicking 5 years later. Taz is the love of my life <3
we got our dog from the pet shelter
My daughter was “half looking” at dogs for awhile. We wanted a rescue dog…small that didn’t shed. She actually met our little furbaby first. The organization that rescued her did a fence and house check and brought her over to meet us all. Our Missy followed my daughter all around the yard. She really decided this was her home.
I don’t have my own dog. This would be for my sister’s German Shepard. I’m not sure where they bought him. Their last dog adopted them.
We adopted our Phoenix from a shelter and our Dover from pet store.
All 3 of my cats came straight off the street <3
My dog Milio is a rescue, I got him from a great group call Bark Party that saved him from a horrible shelter.
Both of my dogs are from breeders. I’m a fan of rescue first, responsible breeders second.
Our male German Shepard was a rescue. He was left behind when the owner’s house was raided. Our other 2 dogs are his offspring!
We rescued our pitty from the animal shelter and rescued our coonhound from a neglectful owner.
I kind of inherited her. I had to put my 84 year old mom in a nursing home so I ended up with her 14 year old toy poodle. That way I can still take the dog, Peaches, to visit my mom in the nursing home.
We had just lost our dog and me and the grandkids were eating at a local restaurant and there was a sign for free puppies. We all went by and fell in love with her right away. She was a ball of fur and she still is 11 years later.
We adopted our lab mix Lucy after the heartbreak of losing our beloved dog of 16 years. She can never totally fill that void but she’s a love, the rescued dogs never forget you saved them, and she keeps me great company all day long.
