This weekend is going to be quite eventful. Flying to New York to preview the movie Suffragette, and then follow with a high tea live conversation with some of the most prominent women in the movie-making industry:
• Writer Abi Morgan (The Iron Lady)
• Director Sarah Gavron (Brick Lane)
• Producers Faye Ward (Jane Eyre, The Other Boleyn Girl) and Alison Owen (Saving Mr. Banks, Temple Grandin)
The “high” society of these women is truly something to be excited about. What we are going to share and talk about is the movement that truly shook the world in the last century – The Suffragette Movement. Women who raised above being suppressed and always told what to do with their bodies, their lives, their talents and gifts. Women who sacrificed their personal happiness, so you and I could truly live our lives with much more freedoms. Yet remember how fragile this happiness equilibrium is in the society where a woman is still looked as far from being equal to a man.
SUFFRAGETTE debuts in New York and Los Angeles October 23, expanding across the country in the weeks that follow.
Watch this newly released clip from the Suffragette with Carey Mulligan in the lead role.

I wish you have a good time. The movie looks very promising and I am sure it will be a hit at the box office. The Waldorf is always associated with high society events. Lucky you!
The Waldorf looks amazing and classy. This is the first time I heard about the movie Suffragette. It sounds interesting and I would love to see this.
I love how the hotel works!! I hadn’t heard of the movie before sounds like a good one.
It must have been amazing to have High Tea with these amazing women. This looks like it is going to be a great movie. I would love to stay at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
Wow! The Waldorf looks incredible. I’m so jealous. Also jealous of who you got to meet. What inspirational women.
I’ll have to check out this movie too.
It sounds like you’ll be having a very interesting weekend. I only just recently heard of this movie and it seems to be making quite a buzz.
Wow, how elegant. I’ve never been to a high tea – certainly not anywhere as amazing as the Waldorf. I’m heading to NYC this winter so I would love to visit. It’s cool you were there to celebrate such a cool cause and movie!
Jaime,
When in New York, go to Waldorf on Sunday. They have a spectacular Lunch-Brunch Extravaganza with the food that is overflowing to meet anybody’s tastebuds’ preferences.
They start at 10am in the central hall and it goes till 3 or 4pm.
