This new release of Avengers: Infinity War will have you sitting on the edge for the entire duration of the movie. This action-packed entertainment has been visualized and implemented by Directors Anthony and Joe Russo (Captain America: Civil War) from a script by Captain America franchise screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Brilliant Marvel Cast from many revered Marvel movies has returned to show the power of conviction, camaraderie, trust and respect for each other and their place in this multi-gamma Universe.

Avengers: Infinity War has been 10 years in the making, and putting together the greatest ensemble of Super Hero characters was the job of directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who were tapped by Kevin Feige to helm the studios’ biggest film to date.

For the Russo brothers, the opportunity to direct “Avengers: Infinity War” was the opportunity of a lifetime that they had been building towards since they stepped into the MCU on “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

“It was a very personal journey for us in being given the opportunity to direct these films,” says Joe Russo. “We started a story in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ that we wanted to finish in these two films. It is a story that consumes the entire Marvel universe and it has one overarching theme to it, which is ‘what does it cost to be a hero in a world where there are no easy answers?’”

“The story of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is the result of everything we’ve ever done to this point,” adds Kevin Feige. “It is the unprecedented culmination of a series of storylines interlinked together, which had never been done before.”

What you are going to experience in this MARVEL movie is no less than the ultimate experience of fight that is ultimately done for survival of many. The “Many” who are human, who are of different walks of life, color of skin, and the understanding of “the good.” And the good begins within, be it a human or an alien from the darkest dimensions of this multi-expressional Universe.

You are going to discover a new dimension of your favorite Marvel heroes and heroins.

I love how MARVEL unravels its storyline with the help of many beautiful and compelling women-characters. You gotta watch the movie to feel and believe that what is being revealed with each and every movement of a new scene.

For Gamora’s sister Nebula, her journey in the film is equally as personal with her connection to Thanos, as well as still trying to mend old wounds with Gamora.

“Nebula has always had a clear agenda throughout the Guardians movies, which is to seek revenge on her father, Thanos, because of the abuse that she has suffered and the terrible upbringing that he inflicted on her,” explains Karen Gillan. “So to see that kind of intertwine into the whole Avengers storyline is satisfying. All of the other characters have the same agenda for slightly different reasons.”

With the Guardians of the Galaxy crossing over into the Avengers franchise for the first time, both Gamora and Nebula find the threat from Thanos is much more personal, given their history.

“This story is very personal for Gamora,” says Zoe Saldana. “Thanos raised her as his daughter. What I really loved about the story is that it really dives into father daughter dynamics, and we get to explore Thanos’ personal life much deeper in the film. That’s what makes that character much more disturbing as a villain—the fact that as a father, he was just pure evil.”

Josh Brolin returns in the role of Thanos, whose journey to bring the character front and center in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been several years in the making.

Commenting on Thanos, Josh Brolin says, “It’s an interesting character. He is somebody who won’t stop until he has what he wants. You’re being reminded that he does have a heart, and you can be empathetic toward him. Then suddenly you realize that he’s the worst villain that’s ever existed because he’s willing to go to any lengths in order to accomplish his vision. There’s something else that’s feeding him and doing this, and what’s fun in the movie is trying to figure out what that is.”

“I think the most interesting part in creating Thanos was being able to show the layers because he’s a very complex character,” says executive producer Victoria Alonso.

“He’s not just a bully, he actually has conviction about what he is trying to accomplish. In his mind, he’s the only one that can help mankind. That’s why he’s going at it, but in his own psychopathic way.” “Thanos is an outcast and a mutant, born on Titan,” adds director Joe Russo. “Everyone on Titan looks different than he does, and he is viewed as a pariah. His past is mired in tragedy, which pushes him to want to correct what happened in the past.”

Tom Hiddleston (Loki) reflects on his experience since entering the MCU.

“The whole journey has been completely beyond my expectations,” says Hiddleston. “The way in which the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been received and embraced by audiences around the world has been the most surprising source of delight for me in my career. I count myself very lucky as an actor to have had the opportunity to play a character that strikes a chord with audiences the way Loki does.”

Get A Sense of MARVEL Family for the Past 10 Years

On May 2, 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe began with the release of “Iron Man.” The film was a worldwide blockbuster hit with fans and critics, and would serve for years as the cornerstone from which Marvel Studios would build an empire that has produced many of the top-grossing films of all time. In the ten years since the film’s release, Marvel Studios has opened a record-breaking 18 consecutive films at #1, with five films grossing over a $1 billion dollars and a collective total of over $13 billion at the worldwide box office.

FUN FACT: Infinity War is the first mainstream movie filmed entirely with IMAX cameras.

Location. Location. Setting the Stage for Battle.

With casting completed, the production began its work on stages at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayetteville, Georgia, which would also serve as the production’s base. While the stages at Pinewood Atlanta Studios served for many of the sets in the film, one location that couldn’t be built were the African landscapes needed for the battles scenes that take place in Wakanda. After a search around the Atlanta area, filmmakers eventually settled on Chattahoochee Hills Eventing, an 8,000 acre equestrian paradise filled with well-established rolling pastures, lakes, and woodlands that run 12 miles along the Chattahoochee River.

Transforming a farm in Atlanta into the fields and landscapes of Wakanda for epic battle sequences fell into the talented and capable hands of the film’s production designer Charles Wood, visual effects supervisor Dan DeLeeuw and special effects supervisor Dan Sudick. While the production visual effects plate unit shot in locations around the globe, the filmmakers headed east to the U.K. to shoot sequences in Edinburgh, Scotland, and around the city.

The Russo brothers found the charming city to be the perfect backdrop for the film. “There is a dramatic aspect to Edinburgh that gives you a feeling of otherworldliness, while it’s also sort of an ancient earthliness,” says Anthony Russo. “There is something fantastical and beautiful and exotic there that allowed us to both ground ourselves on Earth, but also explore ideas that are not of the Earth.”

Although production designer Charles Wood had to enhance many locations like Wakanda, Edinburgh and Bleecker Street in New York City by infusing and integrating his own artistic designs into practical locations, it was not his only task—he also had to create new planets and galaxies that have never been seen before!
