Doctor Strange MARVEL Movie Is An Event You Don’t Want To Miss.
Benedict Cumberbatch On His Filming This Phenomenal Project
Meeting and speaking with this diverse in character and genre actor has been one of my highlights of the year! Truly, I am that excited to have met one of the biggest stars in the filming industry who is polite, open-minded, reflective on the events of life and making a movie with a deep human compassion and reverence to his surroundings.
When asked how he was prepped for the filming of the movie, Benedict Cumberbatch gave us a huge list that went into the preparation every single day of his MARVEL’s Doctor Strange.
Every day there was a time spent in Taiji, aero gymnastics, yoga – things that prepared his mind and body to carry out the role of the magnificent Doctor Strange.
Without giving out any precious details before you all see the movie, I can say that during many scenes there are arm and hand movements done by all Doctor Strange characters who were exercising their “magic” and calling the powerful forces to the task.
I asked how they all managed to be so coordinated in the hand and arm movement and do it with an amazing grace, art, and ease. Benedict Cumberbatch opened up yet another page of trivia that I was not aware of. He had to go through a special training with a master of tutting.
Tutting can be described as a hypnotic dance of hands, closely associated with bodily movements. There’s a lot of tutting going on in the movie!
Just to give you an idea of what it’s all about, watch this quick intro to tutting.
With tutting and Taiji (Chinese cosmological term for the “Supreme Ultimate” state of undifferentiated absolute and infinite potential, the oneness before duality, from which Yin and Yang originate), Benedict Cumberbatch came out an original and powerful Doctor Strange!
If that does not make any sense – not everything has to, to use the words by one of the powerful characters in the movie The Ancient One, played by Tilda Swinton (look for my interview with her in a few days!)
This new movie from the MARVEL universe represents one of the very different reality checks and utilization of computer graphics and powers. Wanting to know more, I asked Benedict Cumberbatch if it it had been a really difficult thing to film the scenes.
Actually, it is much easier for me to film with either all things present in the scene or a completely empty room, filled only with green screens. It is a game and reality we create in our minds.
The movie will surprise you in many ways. I will update this post once the movie opens on a big screen. It a MUST to see this year and can easily compete with STAR WARS, coming out in December. Fascinated – is one word I could describe this movie with.
The actor and actresses ensemble in DOCTOR STRANGE is of SUPREME POWER! Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Mads Mikkelsen, Benedict Wong – Wow, it is something not many movies can boast of!

I want to see this movie but I will probably be staring at him the entire time. He is just so handsome.
My husband would love to see this movie. We’re setting up a date night to watch it. He’s such a big Marvel Comics fan, since he was a child, so I am sure watching Dr. Strange on the big screen would be a delightful experience.
That is pretty awesome. I think my older boys would love to see this movie when it comes out.
My son is a Marvel fan and wants to see this. I’m always impressed by the prep work that actors do to portray a character.
What a cool person to meet. I have never heard of Tutting before but am excited to know more about it. Especially before seeing it in the movie!
I have been so excited for this movie ever since I saw the first trailer – really has that inception vibe to it with the visual effects.
I’ve been pretty curious about this movie because I didn’t know about the comics! Benedict has me sold on it!

I know this will be a must-see movie for my family. It’s amazing to get a sneak peek into the behind-the-scenes making of a movie and what actors go through to get themselves prepared mentally and physically.
Wow – with all this rave – it also makes me excited to see it for myself how the movie will actually turn to be for sure. And its coming soon – so its definitely something to see.
