A delicious small batch of baked donuts can be used for your breakfast, lunch and even high tea parties. Choose colorful glase on donuts to celebrate your occasion.
Preheat oven to 350F
Use any oil to grease a donut pan. Set aside.
1st Bowl: Combine all dry ingredients and carefully whisk them together.
2nd Bowl: Combine all wet ingredients and add them to the 1st Bowl. Combine all ingredients until they become one smooth batter.
Use a teaspoon to spoon the batter and fill each cavity of the donut pan at 3/4 of its capacity. You can use a batter bag or a ziplog bag to pip the batter into each cavity. But I use a spoon just fine.
Place a donut pan with batter into the oven for about 10 minutes. Every oven is different. So watch the donuts carefully to determine if they are baked.
Please note that the top of each donut will be much lighter than the bottom. This is how it should be. Because there's no frying involved, only the part that touches the walls of the pan will be really brown.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
In a bowl combine together confectioner's sugar, salt and vanilla.
Add 1 Tablespoon of milk and combine well. Add another spoonful of milk if the mixture is too thick.
Add food coloring of your choosing.
Dip each donut into the glaze, return to the cooling rack or board and immediately decorate with sprinklers, if you choose to do so. Glaze dries up fast, and sprinklers won't stay on a donut if you leave the decoration for later.
Allow the glaze to settle for about half an hour and then serve to enjoy.
