“… A consumer comes into contact with a flame or spark prior to complete drying of the product on the skin, there is a potential for the product to ignite” – Energizer, the Manufacturer of Banana Boat Sunscreen Sprays.
Energizer Holdings has recalled 23 of their products.
What does it mean for you? Beware not to leather yourself with any of that stuff if you intend to come near by any electric source that can actually ignite you like a match! Four situations with “adverse reaction” have been reported to the company.
A very reasonable question in this situation is, Why the company allows a product that does such a horrible thing to reach a consumer? The Company can blame it on a bottle cap malfunction and on how much product is dispensed at a time. No matter how much, Mr. Energizer, I put any of the product I buy deemed to be safe, protect me from the Sun’s infrared light, and advertised this way, should it present any danger to my physical self! And burning alive is – how should I put it nicely? – simply unethical.

There are so many great non-toxic and green sunscreens out there! I would be bewildered if anyone would buy Banana Boat for themselves and their families.
Here are the brands I discovered and use personally for my whole family:
Smart Girls Who Surf – Sunscreen that definitely will protect you from the harmful rays of the Sun and is safe for water life as well!
Beyond Coastal – Super sunscreen for your skiing and snowboarding! They have sunscreens for your face and lips, and nose. Great stuff I’ve been using on me personally.
