7 Simple Slimming Secrets To Lose Body Fat
By Amy Fournier
Do you work out regularly and watch what you eat but still can’t seem to get your body to look like you want it to?
Do you feel frustrated that despite putting in a considerable amount of time and effort into exercising the weight just isn’t coming off?
Well here’s a secret that you need to know: the real secret to losing inches and getting lean is not your exercise program. It’s your diet. Yes my friends, abs are made in the
kitchen not the gym.
A secret all elite exercise experts know is no matter how hard or how much you work out, you cannot exercise your way out of a bad diet. Now don’t get me wrong, exercise is super-duper important. We are all aware of the many significant physical and emotional benefits we get from being active. However exercise is not the best way to lose body fat…your diet is!
How many times have you seen someone work out to near exhaustion only to then go and eat whatever they wanted after because…well, they “earned it”? The problem is a bowl of pasta can completely undo a 30-60 minute workout …and yes, even if it’s whole-wheat!
In fact the main physical benefit of exercise is to shape, sculpt and tone the body. But if you want to lose fat and lose it fast, you need to know how to eat. In fact, approximately 80-85% of how your body looks is directly attributed to your diet.
The good news is there’s no need to turn to the latest trendy or complicated designer diet. Simply start with my 7 Simple Slimming Secrets to Lose Body Fat and watch the unwanted weight come off as your energy and confidence sore…and isn’t that what it’s really about: being healthy, loving the way you look and feel good in your own skin?
Simple Slimming Secret #1: Eliminate bad sugars
By now you should know that to be healthy, you must become a Label Reader!
Familiarize yourself with all the hidden sources of sugar and avoid all foods and drinks that contain them. You will be horrified at how prevalent sugar is in foods today…and foods that you would never expect to find it in!
For example, sugar in its various hidden forms is often in ketchup, salad dressings, sauces, cold cuts and meats. Look for the words: sucrose, glucose, corn syrup, fructose, high fructose corn syrup, cane sugar, brown rice syrup and honey. These are all forms of sugar to your body. Strictly limit your intake of them if not avoid them completely.
Sugar wreaks havoc with your energy level, causing it to spike up and then crash down which then affects your mood. The more simple sugar carb foods you eat like packaged refined foods, breads, muffins, bagels, cereals, flour products, protein and granola bars, crackers, fruit, juice etc…the more you will crave, which then leads to a roller coaster of weight gain, mood swings, energy swings, fatigue and depression!

At this time I am going to do my breakfast, when having my breakfast coming again to read other news.
i must say that I am happy with my weight (I, of course, could loose a few pounds), but I do need to tone my body. I have never cut down on sugars…but that is one thing I am willing to do to loose those extra pounds 🙂
I can attest to what Amy says is very true–I have been on a weight roller coaster for most if not all of my life-UNTIL I was diagnosed with diabetes and was forced to change my diet! Now I watch my carb and sugar intake like a hawk and not only do I have diabetes under total control but I have lost 60 lbs and counting!!
I loved reading this and it is so true. You are what you eat is always what I have heard. I have lost 30 pounds over the last year and am working on loosing more. I will be back to read more. Thanks!

I need to get back to cutting out the sugar in my diet, but I am such a sugar addict.
Sugar is so addicting for me, and I can definitely feel when I haven’t had my “fix”. I have been trying very hard lately to reduce the amount of sugar I consume, but it does get hard with all the temptations. Thank you for the encouragement!
Great tips! I have lost 50lbs in a little less than a year, but am always working on losing more 🙂
Great post…can’t wait til next week!
And, I SO agree…sugar is really the devil, and so incredibly hard to completely weed out of your diet!!
I am a big believer that simply cutting back, or out, soda can dramatically reduce sugar!
Great tips! I definitely need to examine what I’m eating and find those hidden sugar sources!
Angela,
Once you become aware of what you are putting inside your body, you become more conscious of what your food choices are. If you know the effect of each food on your body, you will eat those that benefit your body and its health.
LOVE IT!!! I lost 40 pounds 10 years ago and never put any of it back! Great post!
Mel,
Hurray to you, Woman. You figured out your maintenance routine that allows you to stay on track and enjoy life.
I”m sitting next to Kathleen, but I’ve got a Coke and a bag of chocolate:-(
Kathleen, Libby,
Love ya, Gals. Sometimes it’s OK to eat what you want. Developing awareness of what we eat would help anyone to make choices.
I will think of great recipes that do have chocolate and coffee in them. These products are great for our health. It’s the sugar that some companies load them with make them disastrous.
Great time LOL. I’m sitting here eating a chocolate bar and drinking an Iced Capp reading about healthy eating and exercise. I guess I should take more notice of your posts!
I love this! I’ve lost 70 pounds in the last year and it is true that it is as much about what you eat as how you exercise. I can’t wait to see more tips in the future!
I don’t know if I can give up sugar, but I can limit it. It is true that your diet determines your weight. I have to eat gluten free, which naturally limits a lot of carbs unless I fill in with a lot of other sugars, and my weight is fairly easy to maintain.
Well points Natalie, we all can easily limit our sugar intake just by lowering the amount of sweets and lemonade we drink.
