Sunday’s are special. Time to slow down. Time for you to eat more deliciously, to drink more slowly, and time to read.
Sunday is a perfect time for reflection, for remembering beautiful things from your past, to dream about what you want to do in the future.
Of course, Sunday is a metaphor. Your slowdown day may actually be a different day of the week, but I’m hoping you have at least one of those slow-down days each week to de-compress and soak-in the rich beauty of life.
Sunday’s are Special Days
The UnDiet Project is organized to send you different types of messages based on which day of the week it is. So, Sunday is reserved for more thought-filled messages. (Saturday is when we send you the next week’s Slimming Family Recipe, with its organized weekly shopping list.)
You will come to look forward to your SunDaily™ UnDiet message. Plus, it just makes the rest of the week’s UnDiet Project content a continuing dialogue with your heart and soul. At least that is how I experience it, and I hope you will too.

DEVOTIONAL 8
Quiet Sunday Mornings
There is quiet on Sunday mornings. A hush, long shadows, distant traffic noise, morning birds chirping. An occasional dog bark from down the street fills-in the soft rustle of leaves.
If you get up early enough, if you aren’t in a hurry to get someplace, if you can just sit for moment, you can hear yourself think. And while you are thinking, you can feel faint emotions rubbing up against those lazy thoughts.
Who you are, deep in your mind, in those Sunday moments (or whatever is your “slow-down day” of the week), will tell you much about where you are going if nothing changes…and where you want to be going in your life in your years remaining.
Sometimes, if you have done the Sunday morning quiet routine several times, your mind will wander, wondering why you are here on this Earth — why you were created.
The Divine. Life purpose. What you feel compelled to do before you pass. Where the loving comes in. What resolutions are needed…desired? Who you need to forgive…learning to forgive yourself.
All of these things get crushed out of thinking, pushed away by work, family, obligations, in the rush of daily living. So, only in your Sunday mornings when you take the luxury of living slow, can you consider what it all means. Late at night, before sleep, tiredness fills-in the spaces of your mind, distorting thoughts in too many ways to make allowances for it.
Sunday mornings. Quiet mornings alone in the still. That is where you can meet yourself, and decide again why you’re here. Then resolve to step closer to it.
Take time for the wonder of Sunday mornings.

this is awesome
Sundays are wonderful. They are usually slow paced & filled with family or friends
This is really interesting. I’ve always found Sundays special, being the Sabbath, and then esp. as I started a family, it was very much family day.
I enjoy relaxing with the family on Sunday. Sometimes we take a nice family drive and enjoy the day.
sundays are MY day time to reflex time to relax time to be at peace
Sometimes all you need is a little motivation to get you going.
I don’t work outside the home, so everyday is sunday to me. I do enjoy the crossword puzzles in the newspaper.
sounds like a nice project. thanks for sharing
Sundays are my days to relax and catch up on my reading.
Sometimes, we are so focused on workout/fitness routines that we forget our spirituality and emotions that need some nourishment as well. This is a nice motivation for Sundays. We really need this kind of posts to remind us to stop, relax, reflect and then go on with our lives again.
love it! thanks for sharing with us.
I like this idea. Thanks for sharing!
Love this idea. Perfect thing to do on a sunday.
I agree. Everyone needs a “recharge” day.
i work on sunday usually so i do get up. today was a lazy lazy day. i have trouble with motivation
Its so nice to have quiet times and also family times set apart for spending time together apart from everything else.
What a great idea to give focus to yourself. Often we get lost in our needs.
Sundays is a relaxing day for me too. I love quiet time but I also use the day to catch up on movies and soapies.
Awesome project. I wish my Sundays were like that, they just seem to be the same as every other day.
I also love Sundays because I don’t need to work and get to relax with my familyI
I think everyone needs a quiet Sunday morning, something to clear your mind and lift your spirits. It’s so good for your mental health.
I always try to keep my Sunday mornings free. That’s the only day of the week that I have the opportunity to sleep late and have a leisurely morning.
Wonderful motivation. I wish I could slow down on Sundays. it’s not as busy as the rest of the week, but going through a divorce and being self employed with one less income now means I have to take the work when it comes in.
Sunday is relaxation or lazy day for the whole family except when there are things that need to be done which seldom happens. This is such a great post.
I have never heard of this project before. Self reflection is important any day of the week. Trying to find a quiet spot though, is not always easy, unless of course, like you said, if you get up really early and you are the only one around.
I make sure to prepare great mills on Sundays because that’s the day my whole family is complete. These are awesome tips.
I love the weekends! This is a time when I get to spend some quiet time with my family. We usually watch a movie on Sundays. It’s a great time to relax and enjoy ourselves.
I love your ideas. The morning devotional is key for me.:)
This is such a great idea for getting your morning devotion in!! Great post!!
I love the weekends, especially Sundays. Knowing it’s the last day before our busy week starts makes it that much more special.
U love Sundays! We get to sleep in a little bit, eat breakfast together and attend church service.
Great idea. I love the quiet of Sunday mornings. Everything slows down and I have time to spend some “me” time. I only wish I had a better view of the sunrise. That would top it all!
I love Sunday because Sunday was no project and its time to relax and also our family time going to church every Sunday.
I am not familiar with the undietproject but I definitely agree that it is super important to take time for yourself and re-charge your spiritual/emotional batteries. 🙂
We really try to focus on spending time together as a family on Sunday so we can recharge. It bring us closer together.
Sunday is a day of rest for our whole family. We all relax and take time to spend together. We go to church in the morning and then spend the rest of the day together.
I also love Sunday because I don’t need to think about work. I simply relax with my family and friends.
Just need a little quiet time to yourself. It’s a great way to revive your soul and your heart before the day starts.
This sounds like a cool project. I’m going to look into it more.
Sometimes all you need is a little motivation to get you going. It would be nice to have a little message each day of the week.
This is such a great idea. What a fantastic way to feed your soul. I love it!
