We were at the Paramount Studios Set to talk to the cast and watch new episodes filmed for the DisneyXD programming titled Walk The Prank. The program was set up to bring a new wave of programming to children and their families. All pranks use real Targets – unsuspected people from real life.
But rest assured, there are adults on the set to keep all things in orderly manner.
It is not a new idea when a professionally-written script is carefully woven into real-life pranks. What makes Walk The Prank programming different is that all those situations are written around and created based on kids’ interests and changes they are going through in real life.
This is remarkable, if you ask me. The writers work closely with children who perform the pranks and write around their favorite things and passions. Based on that, the “targets” on whom the pranks will be played are figured out and written into script. Not all is scripted, though. Some spontaneity is required to make the appearance natural and entertaining.
My most favorite prank so far!
Four schoolkids who are the center of the Walk The Prank are:
To ensure the peace and happiness of the real #WalkThePrank scene, an adult – nicknamed Uncle Will – has intentionally been scripted into the program. Uncle Will is played by Tobie Wyndham. He makes sure that there are no “injuries,” no misunderstandings during and after the prank has been played. Want it or not, it is a real-life situation, and things are taken seriously when it comes to peace and good nature of the entire environment!
Tobie Wyndham shared his barometer he uses to ensure the success of the production process. After each prank, he high-fives the Target(s) of the trick. If people react positively – hei, no hurt feelings, and people loved the experience. Like in real life, it is important to build positive relations with all around us.
Working with kids is Amazing. The reactions are so natural that acting is made easy.
“Combining real-life situations and kid’s interests improve with scripted text – it is the best and magical process,” says Tobie Wyndham.
Kids 7 and up would LIVE for to watch #WalkThePrank. It is a weekly program on DisneyXD and it will consume you all with good humor and laughter.
If you love hilarious pranks that are executed with the hidden camera show – Walk The Prank is for you!
