Flying frequently or not, we do need some effective tips that would keep us in functioning mode and good health after we undertake a long flight. Many people ignore some easy steps that could prevent them from feeling sluggish, thus loosing their working state of mind and body.
Here are these easy tips for anybody who needs to take a flight from one city to another and who wants to feel refreshed no matter what.
#1 Hydrate before, during, and after the flight
Water is the best choice! It allows for toxins to get out of your body much quicker and keep your mind alert and body happy. Buy your own bottle before you board the flight and sip from it during the flight.
#2 Have a healthy snack with you
If you fly long hours, it’s better to have your proven snacks with you – the ones you know work and will keep you alert, with the blood sugar in control and balanced. If you go too long without any food, you may start to feel tired and even not well. It’s better to have a quick, small snack that will make you happy.
I know that some airlines serve quality snacks in First Class. But still, you gotta watch for all those ingredients that will not help you to survive through the flight. Your goal is to stay alert, not hungry and feeling good. You can have a good dinner after the flight is over!

#3 Have your sanitizer ready!
Travel-size sanitizer will be your best friend when it comes to eliminating germs during our travels. Clean your hands frequently, as you never know what germs come from where!
FYI: Those back pockets with informational booklets are the germ breeders!
#4 Bring your own pillows and blankets!
One more way to avoid all those germs. Your own travel pillow and small blanket will do. Or just wear a sweater to avoid one extra thing to pack.
#5 Get up and Stretch FREQUENTLY!
Even in healthy people blood clots do happen. You need not become one of the statistics. Just get over that inconvenience to ask the next-sitting passenger to get let you out for a walk! Stand up at least once every hour. And do some minimal stretches every half-an-hour. You will ensure a better blood flow, get some muscles working, and allow yourself to feel more energized during the flight and after.
#6 Wear comfortable shoes!
Wear something that will give you mobility and comfort rather than opting for a more stylish pair of shoes. Once on board – kick those shoes off to allow your feet to relax and avoid the swelling. Take an extra pair of socks to cover your feet when you take the shoes off.
#7 Avoid alcohol and caffeine
As these two beverages won’t add to your energy level. Actually, they will drain you off and leave you tired and wanting more of the same vicious cycle.
#8 Pack saline solution
The air on the airplane is so dry, it would help to moisten the nasal passages. Do it in the privacy of a bathroom. You will feel better and refreshed. Pack travel-size saline solution!
#9 Pack Lightly
And here we mean take as little as you can on board with you. If you have a carry-on only, try to put as much as possible inside it. The less you have on you, the less things to remember not leave anywhere.
#10 Get a good sleep before your travels!
