You never thought you would need to deal with sagging skin during menopause. Less did you imagine that one day you’ll see a different you in the mirror. That is with more fine lines and spread-out wrinkles, less tight facial skin, and droopy jowls.
Thanks to dramatic drops of hormone estrogen, a myriad of weird and unexpected for us things start to happen. Estrogen helped our skin to maintain its youthful looks thanks to plentiful of collagen that thwarted the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. In addition, the fat storage under the skin was a necessary must to keep our facial chick bones nice and beautiful. Now, the same fat is slowly sliding to the jaw line, forming those so-unwelcome jowls.
You want to cry and stomp your foot. You are ready to throw away all your skin care products and mourn your youthful looks. But before you start acting on it, there’s help and ways of lifting your spirit and skin up.
Prevent Dry and Sagging Skin During Menopause
The earlier in your life you start taking care of your skin, the stronger you will be entering into the age of menopause. You see, perimenopause can start in early 30’s or due to some surgeries that require removal of women’s ovaries. Each woman’s body is unique and different. But the principles of how to deal with sagging skin and wrinkles during menopause remain solid and practical for every woman to pay attention to. Using moisturizing masks and skin products is one of the top priorities to keep your skin’s water balance at optimal.
One of the other side-effects for skin during menopause is dry skin. Hormones that used to be present all your life before the onset of menopause are now at the lowest of their levels. That and a combination of your lifestyle factors like everyday food, physical activity, skin care products, supplementation affect the condition of your skin. Dryness contribute to a greater extent to the sagging skin at menopause.

Anti-wrinkle system is designed to minimize the appearance of blemishes while effectively addressing concerns related to aging skin.
Dealing with Dry and Itchy Skin at Menopause
How to handle dry, itchy menopause skin can be done through creating a regular skin care routine. Once you understand the changes that are taking place in your body during perimenopause and menopause, you will be able to regroup and figure out your needs and the best skin care solutions for caring for your skin in menopause.
With the drastic decline of estrogen and other hormones during menopause, the production of oils and collagen slows down. What it means for our skin is that those two skin-building ingredients will be in a huge deficit.
Less oil means your skin won’t retain moisture as well as it used to. And with less collagen, your skin will show more fine lines that can easily become permanent wrinkles.

The effects of dry skin could be spread to the entire body: from face to hands and feet. That is why you need to support the onset menopause changes in your body and skin with an aggressive action plan.
Cleanse and Exfoliate Skin Regularly During Menopause
If before you could skip daily cleansing and regular skin exfoliation, during menopause you will see drastic and unwelcome changes to your skin quality. By using a mild cleanser, remove dirt, body by-products, and skincare products from your skin surface. Use creamy cleansers to help to moisturize dry skin and protect the existing skin oils.
Try to choose the skin cleansers that combine ingredients that cleanse and protect your skin. I like using rich cleansers with jojoba, avocado, sea buckthorn oils. The SeaBuckWonders exfoliating facial cleanser is one of the best to incorporate for a daily, night and day, skin care routine.
With Omega-3,6,7,8,9 infused into one product, it is hard to beat the concentration of these rich and protective nutrients in one product. In addition, this gentle cleanser does not strip off your skin of the natural oils. It is ideal for any skin type, too.
Please do not use soaps to cleanse your face! Soaps have drying agents in their formulas that can easily irritate your skin and push it into a more drastic dryness. For the body overall, learn and try out dry skin brushing – it has changed my view on how simple things can conquer the world.

Moisturize Skin After Each Wash During Menopause
To keep the moisture locked in, apply lotions and creams when your skin is damp. I usually damp my face first and apply my serum and then a moisturizer to lock in the actives and the moisture within my skin.

Sea Buckthorn Oil Benefits for Skin
Sea Buckthorn is a unique plant with potent nutrient content and Omega fatty acids. The plants that grow high in Tibetan mountains produce the most valuable berries. This is due to the extreme weather in which these plants have evolved, promoting a robust nutritional profile to keep them alive.
1. Sea Buckthorn Hydrates and Protects Skin
What a great natural resource for anybody to use in daily life, this sea buckthorn plant! Sea buckthorn oil is used in formulas to calm down rosacea, eczema, psoriasis. With a highly concentrated infusion of omega -3, -6, -9, and the powerful skin-healing omega -7, SeabuckWonders Facial Cream offers unparalleled hydration and protection for radiant skin.
2. Sea Buckthorn Skin Healing Properties Are A Must for Aging Skin
With a potent infusion of omega -3, -6, -9, and the powerful skin-healing Omega-7, SeabuckWonders Body Lotion provides nourishment with age-defying properties for soft, healthy skin. Its high concentration of sea buckthorn oil allows for superior moisture retention while protecting the skin from signs of aging and the effects of exposure to the sun.
3. Ample Antioxidant Support for Any Skin Age or Type
For the curious ones, here is a nutritional profile of the Sea Buckthorn oil that can be used for a woman’s overall health.
- Amino acids
- Plant sterols
- Tocopherols
- Carotenoids like beta-carotene
- Phenols, terpenes and glucosides
- Vitamins (A, E, K and B vitamins)
- Minerals (Copper, iron, selenium and manganese)
- Flavonoids (aka antioxidants) like isorhamnetin, quercetin and myricetin
The sea buckthorn berry also has as much vitamin E as wheat germ, more vitamin A than carrots, more vitamin C than oranges, tomatoes and kiwifruits.
All of these foods are rich in antioxidant power by themselves. Imagine that a sea buckthorn berry has it even more!
One more fun fact for you to know about this bright orange berry. It boasts four times more superoxide dismutase (SOD), an important enzyme that can help reduce free radical damage, than ginseng. In addition, it’s the only plant source that contains omega-3, -6, -7 and -9 fatty acids in one place.

Your hands and feet may want some nourishment and care, too. Apply a tiny amount of Sea Buckthorn Omega-rich body lotion onto your hands, massage into your feet and places where skin is dry and patchy.

Boost Your Skin Care Routine with
Menopause Dry Skin Supplements
To boost my skin health, I do use supplements. I have my routine, but some of the supplements I am taking is pure Sea Buckthorn oil with Omega-7 concentration. The benefits for skin health and overall women’s health are many.
Omega fatty acids are unsaturated fatty acids found in certain fish, like salmon and anchovy, and oils such as olive oil, macadamia oil, and sea buckthorn oil.
Adding an everyday supplement of the Omega-7 fatty acids, you could be contributing two major benefits to your skin.
First top benefit is its anti-aging properties, as it repairs damages from free radicals. And the second benefit Omega-7 delivers to the skin is its help with diminishing hyperpigmenation. And that’s what any sagging skin at menopause calls for – protection against any outside and inside damaging.

Check out Omega-7 from Sea Buckthorn Berries.

Biotin is a B vitamin that helps improve the keratin protein structures in hair, skin and nails for natural strength and softness. It’s great for supporting hair health and boosting the overall moisture systems in the body for the softest skin and strongest hair.
Biotin alone is not enough to create a well balanced beauty product. Most Hair, Skin and Nails capsules only have biotin or are a mixture of other “dry” vitamins. The combination of sea buckthorn seed and berry oil with biotin by SeaBuckWonders provides a much more complex source of beauty supporting vitamins that work better in combination with each other.

Karen,
Sea Buckthorn grows in many parts of the world. But, there is a HUGE BUT!
The sea buckthorn berries growing on high elevations have the most value, as they have to endure severe weather and survive.
The sea buckthorn harvested from low elevations does not have that power.
Look for sea-buckthorn-based products from Tibet that is harvested sustainably. Do the research of the company first!
I have heard Sea Buckthorn is amazing for your skin! I would love to win this so I could try it out!
