One more unforgettable interview and meeting with one of the most gifted young acting talents in Hollywood – Raffey Cassidy. She plays “Athena” the guest, the hostess from the future in a newly released Disney movie TOMORROWLAND.
Vibrant in her emotional expression as well as her verbal interview, this young actress stands out with her self-confidence and desire to live. That’s what the whole movie is all about – the optimism we are creating in our daily life and projecting it into the future.

We were really surprised at how much a role of “Athena” had in store for Raffey to learn and to practice for!
“My favorite scene to shoot was probably the Blast from the Past sequence. I really liked that because it was a lot of action in it. I trained for two months in gymnastics and martial arts, and then I went to Canada and did another month of martial arts and a bit of gymnastics. And then I did even more training throughout the many months of filming doing another couple of days every week or so throughout the shoot.”
Watch this short movie trailer to get closer to the “Athena” you’ve got to experience from a Big Screen! Listen to her voice. And do notice her immaculate facial expression with big eyes! I simply love what Raffey did with her character in Tomorrowland!
When watching the movie, pay attention to the costumes! Like this dress on “Athena,” all costumes carry a special meaning that you will get once you’re watching the film!
Raffey is not new to the movie-making world! She’s been at it since she was seven-years-old. Attending one of her brother’s auditions, she was called up to try to read for one of the characters. Fate was on her side – she was cast for the role! And since then, look what she has in her filming portfolio! Mind the fact she’s a twelve-year-old girl with life and friends and school to attend!
• Snow White and the Huntsman – Raffey plays against Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth
• Molly Moon: The Incredible Hypnotist – Emily Watsona nd Dominic Monaghan were her fellow-actors!
During the interview, what really stood out is her genuine fascination with life and the process of filming, which took a lot of learning and interacting with other talented actors and actresses. She speaks highly of Britt Robertson, who plays “Casey” in the movie.
“I think that Britt Robertson, she’s somebody to look up to and admire. She’s like an old person and she’s so down to earth, but she’s done so much. She’s just so kind and I really, really like her.”
Here are some powerful words young actress shared about a huge support she gained from George Clooney while filming Tomorrowland. Describing him as “down-to-earth and very professional,” she highly speaks of him.
“Athena has so many different qualities. She’s optimistic. She’s intelligent. She’s wise, and I just kind of put all of those together, and I always had an image in my head for a scene so it was never just go in cold. I always had an image that would just help me and I’d always be able to think of it to get me through this. My hardest scene would probably be my end scene in the movie. There were a lot of lines, but once I’d learned them, it just flowed. George had a lot of eye contact with me, so it’s so easy to perform and it would have been hard if George wasn’t so good. But in the end, it was easy because he is just so professional and kept eye contact the whole time.”
Raffey Cassidy expressed such a huge surprise when she shared her own “WOW” moment when she had a chance to see the whole movie Tomorrowland put together! I don’t blame her! If you have not seen the movie, go and enjoy the intricate collaboration of minds, history, and seeds of optimism and powerful future, we as a Mankind can build. But it starts with each individual as a prerequisite.
“I was just so shocked. It was like wow, and they put it so well together…there was never a scene when I was thinking wow, this was dragging on. By the end of the film, it was like, it can’t be over yet! Well, if I had to choose something on what Athena and I share it would probably be optimism, because I think that I feel that I’m quite optimistic and always look on the bright side of a bad situation.””
When asked what she would like to take away from the movie and particularly from the character she played, Raffey Cassidy explained.
“Optimism is what I wanna choose from Athena. She is wise, intelligent. I want to emulate her in real life this way.”
We definitely were interested how she handles the filming process in general and if she were interested in acting career for her own future.
“At the moment, I’m definitely so grateful for what I’ve had the chance to do and everything, and maybe I’ll carry on doing this. Yeah. At the moment, I want to go into it. I might change my mind down the road.
My favorite part of being a part of this, or any project is how close the set becomes, like the cast and crew, everybody, becomes so close. It’s like a family. Everybody helps each other out.”

My girls and I cannot wait to see this movie. It looks so magical and fun!! So neat that you got to interview her. She seams very sweet. I would have loved to be there too!
She is adorable! She seems so mature and well-spoken for her age. This looks like such a good movie.
I love when people get to tell a little of the “behind the scenes” information about a movie or anything. I think we see performers and actors and forget that they are real people, with real nerves and concerns and all that. Thanks for sharing her story!
She is so pretty and yes, I love her voice. I like George Clooney, too and I’m looking forward to seeing this movie.
Now I want to see it just to figure out what the costumes all mean!
