Now I like horses as well as anyone, I guess. Never had the chance to ride them much. But they are wonderful beasts.
Having said that, I’m not a fan of mare urine. Not really been my thing. Why do I mention that? Because there is this whole, expensive diet built on mare urine. And not just any mare urine…pregnant mare urine.
The diet is called HCG. And people lose a lot of weight on it. At least that’s what they say. When I checked out the claims, it seemed it was true…people do lose a lot of weight.
So, it was time to take a closer look. I found out their secret. Pregnant mare urine. Now the liquid horse horse stuff (it seems weird to keep talking about urine) really doesn’t make you lose weight…at least not all by itself. It seems they put you on a 500 calorie a day diet. That’s where the urine comes in. Whether in pill, drink, or shot form, its supposed to keep the hunger away.
HCG, then teams up with what can only be described as a VERY LOW CALORIE diet. At 500 calories per day, it is HALF what Weight Watchers feeds you. (And I thought that was a low calorie diet.) Basically, without the horsey stuff you’d really get hungry.
Only 500 calorie? That’s 1/4 what people normally eat. No wonder you lose a lot of weight.
But, here’s the thing, HCG is also used to cause ovulation and to treat infertility in women, and to increase sperm count in men. Some women using this medicine have developed a condition called ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), especially after the first treatment cycle. (I looked it up.) OHSS can be a life-threatening condition. It can cause severe pelvic pain, swelling of the hands or legs, stomach pain and swelling, shortness of breath, weight gain, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, and urinating less than normal.
Woops. That just doesn’t seem right…ALL THAT RISK JUST TO LOSE WEIGHT?
Then, I checked in with several people who had lost a lot of weight on the HCG diet. Everyone I talked to GAINED ALL THEIR WEIGHT BACK, PLUS A LOT MORE. Now, maybe that doesn’t happen to everyone, but I could understand why. Here’s a short video that explains why DIETS REALLY CAUSE WEIGHT GAIN. Check it out. It’s only about 1-and-a-half-minute-long, but it made a lot of sense to me.
I’m not getting near HCG. I don’t need pregnant mare urine in my diet. And I certainly don’t want to RE-GAIN A LOT OF WEIGHT after any diet. That’s nonsensical.
I am ready for something else. An undiet. Aren’t you?
I’ve heard about the #CoreUnDiet, and where to get a FREE sample. I’m going to try it, and save my money. And keep mare urine out of my house.
Try it with me. Get a FREE #CoreUndiet sample here.
Meanwhile, stay away from pregnant mare urine. Pet the horses when you see them. Don’t consume their byproducts.
PS: Here’s a 1-and-a-half-minute-long video that explains how LOW CALORIE DIETS cause weight re-gain.

This is totally new to me and interesting and very controversial as I am reading. Thanks for sharing!
That is just to far out there for me.I do not need to lose weight that bad.
Wow. Do people really do this? Who thinks these things up? I can’t even imagine wanting to be skinny so badly I drank horse pee. Ick!
Wow that is so strange the title yes.. This is just so weird, is this the newest best fad that they could come up with? It is just so bizarre to me. I had never heard of this before.
ok that is just plain crazy, now why on earth would you firstly drink urine and then risk putting back more weight after the supposed diet. This is total nuts but tells you how far some people are willing to go to cut corners and lose weight.
I can’t believe people actually do this! People really need to learn that diets do nothing, lifestyle changes do.
I guess HCG is not a good alternative. I guess a 500 calorie diet should work with any diet that takes away the hunger. More importantly, consistency is more important in any weight loss routine.
I ha s heard the weight back to be true and biologically it makes sense!
The things people will do to lose weight never ceases to amaze me. Personally I would never try something like this, but to each their own.
Ewwww, I usually just count calories when I try to lose weight. I eat regular food and still feel satisfied.
Sometimes, diets just go to far and I believe, this is one of those times! No horse urine for this girl!
wow. I never heard of this and I hung onto your every word. I definitely will be checking the ingredients of the “hunger blockers” at the pharmacy. I am happy with my 10 extra pounds, thank you very much and i LIKE to EAT.
Gross, I have never heard of this before. This is crazy! People go to any extent to lose weight. I guess it it works all the more power!
Omg this is the strangest yet most interesting post ever lol… I can’t believe people urine to lose weight?!? Omg makes me kinda gag thinking about it! I guess some people really do ANYTHING to shed those extra lbs lol
What? This seems to crazy to me! I haven’t ever heard of this before, but I know it wouldn’t be for me! It’s crazy the things people do to lose weight! I will just keep track of what I eat and keep indulging in sweets to a minimum!
What a crazy diet! People will try anything to loose weight. I don’t need to loose weight that badly.
WOW, this is a very interesting post. I guess everyone has their own opinions on how to loose weight. I don’t think I would ever try this, ever.
There is nothing in the world that could get me to ever put pregnant mare urine into my body. I roughly count calories and workout & that’s enough for me.
I’ve heard of HCG, but never knew that it was being used to help people lose weight. Personally, I don’t diet- I just look in the mirror and see how I look, and if I am uncomfortable I watch what I eat a little more closely.
Is that a real thing?! Who in God’s name would want to drink the urine from a pregnant horse – bizarre! 🙂
