PIXAR Studios is known for its innovation in the world of software animation and presenting it in a way that human eye interprets animated pictures as if they were real. Do you remember the first character of PIXAR, the LUXO lamp? Yes, the one that serves as PIXAR company logo.
The 1986 was the year of breakthrough in using the procedural animation, special software, to interpret and convey emotions in real time.
“Procedural animation is used to simulate particle systems (smoke, fire, water), cloth and clothing, rigid body dynamics, and hair and fur dynamics, as well as character animation.”
The LUXO Lamp PIXAR Short received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Short Film, becoming the first Computer-generated imagery film nominated for an Academy Award.

One thing you need to know about PIXAR is that it is rooted in “magical” CULTURAL TRADITIONS. Magical because they’re based on the integrity of the Founder Steve Jobs and his leadership to integrate his vision into the corporate structure.
The introduction to the PIXAR Studios is not a small thing for me. I am a huge fan of all things Apple and Mac and iPod. Witnessing the cutting edge technological advancements made by one company whose goal is to provide powerful products that are easy to use, I experienced an emotional cloud nine rise of feelings when PIXAR has invited me to visit and see and learn and share their Culture of Work and Creativity with all of you.
A few things you need to know about PIXAR culture. All employees feel at work like they are at home. The buildings, the street alleys, the plants, the architecture, the materials all buildings were built with – every details lives and breaths love and care and creative thought process.
Work is at PIXAR looks and feels different than in any corporate environment. There are outdoor heated swimming pools, basketball court, picnic area, the gym, an herb garden that feeds all PIXAR employees and its guests, walking alleys. WOW, you will never think you’re anywhere, but at your home office with the best ever amenities to support your lifestyle. BUT THAT’S HOW PIXAR OPERATES!
The office buildings where all the creative PIXAR stuff happens are designed for work and rest and refueling for creativity.
One building has a randomly planted aluminum characters into the floor.
Some amazing PIXAR characters are displayed at human height to enjoy and interact.
The experience of experiencing the PIXAR culture in real life – how they work and re-energize – is a truly magical and life-changing. It leaves an unforgettable mark deep in soul and shows in real time how loving and living life abundantly can create world-changing results.
During my PIXAR Studios trip we met with some incredible creative teams and individuals who make it all happen. Stay Tuned and you won’t be disappointed. The trip to San Francisco was rich and full of interesting interviews and meetings.
