About three weeks ago, one of my fellow-bloggers made a statement – Anonymously – (this is not a word-for-word statement, rather the gist of what she really meant) that the bloggers she was closely working with and who supported her with all her events and promotions did not have enough education to really understand some issues, thus, incapable of making a good decision.
First, that was made behind our backs.
Second, she continues to utilize and rely on the help and a huge and powerful network of her fellow-bloggers.
Third, she never, even for a moment, considered it to be unethical to do what she had done.
Obviously, she raised herself to the status of the Elite without respect towards those she’s working and collaborating on the daily basis. What’s more debilitating is that she keeps relying on the help and support of the blogging community.
Why has the person made those judgemental statements in the first place? And why does she still rely on her fellow-bloggers?
It is sad and tragic that we have people like her among the bloggers. What does she really think about her fans, readers, visitors? Not everybody visiting her blog got the Diploma for Bachelors or Masters or Doctors degree? Yet, they are living their lives successfully, raising their children successfully, and visiting her blog supporting her successfully.
A few days ago, Seth Godin sent me one of this emails that talks about Those People (i.e., different than you are). With his permission, I am presenting his point of view on the subject of the preconceived judgment.
What is your good opinion on the subject of any prejudice?

Those People
Seth Godin
At a recent seminar, a woman who helps run a community college stood up to ask a question.
“Well, the bad news,” she said, “is that we have to let everyone in. And the truth is, many of these kids just can’t be the leaders you’re describing, can’t make art. We need people to do manual work, and it’s those people.”
I couldn’t believe it. I was speechless, then heartbroken. All I could think of was these young adults, trusting this woman to lead them, teach them, inspire them and push them, and instead being turned into ‘those people.’
You know, the people who will flip burgers or sweep streets or fill out forms all day. The ones who will be brainwashed into going into debt, into buying more than they can afford, to living lives that quietly move from one assigned task or one debt payment to another. If they’re lucky.
No, I said to her, trying to control my voice, no these are not those people. Not if you don’t want them to be.
Everyone is capable of being generous, at least once. Everyone is capable of being original, inspiring and connected, at least once. And everyone is capable of leading, yes, even more than once.
When those that we’ve chosen to teach and lead write off people because of what they look like or where they live or who their parents are, it’s a tragedy. Worse, we often write people off merely because they’ve been brainwashed into thinking that they have no ability to do more than they’ve been assigned. Well, if we brainwashed them into setting limits, I know we can teach them to ignore those limits.

I hate when people judge someone because they don’t have a diploma. I don’t have diploma or a degree but I’m a good caring and decent human being. Why would someone want to follow a blogger who is so inconsiderant is beyond me. I don’t care what people think of me because I’m a good person. God loves me the way I am.
That’s sad that this person thinks this way.I’m going to pray for her/him.
i agree as a blogger you must watch your words & pick them properly. i worry when folks don’t realize their are many folks that do quite well for themselves with out any degree. it is all in what you wish for your life. i have a associates degree & still don’t have a clue what to use it for … but if getting a doctorate in whatever you pick & that is what you wish to do… that is great. if you have the time, energy, brains, wish to & all that jazz. i sure hope she did not mean any harm. i hope??!
