Show me one person who does not have stress in life. There’s none. It is how we manage and reduce stress that gets everyone of us ahead, and eventually, allows us to live joyous and fulfilled lives.
Learning effective principles of How To Handles Stress and avoid meltdowns is the key of reaching goals, living the dreams, and enjoy life overall.
Dr. Samantha Brody has dedicated her practice addressing the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of her patients’ health. Her approach is holistic and easily accessible, mindful of the body/mind connection, and based on science and logic. She is inclusive and respectful of people’s differences in their approach to life and wellness.
Her simple, 4-step process not only allows for, but insists upon, individuality of values and belief systems. It works both for people who fall on the “woo-woo” end of the self-help spectrum, and the people who fall on the logical end. This method allows you to take the results of the process into relationships with your own practitioners — an integral part of creating a long-term game plan for optimal health and well-being.
To Lower Stress Identify Your Values, Goals, Desires in Life
Step 1
Before it is possible to overcome overwhelm and stress, it is important to understand what is most important to you, how you want to feel, and what you want to accomplish in your life. Step one, therefore, guides you through a process of identifying your own individual values, goals, and desires around health and life. This involves a full self-assessment of past and current health, as well as current health goals.
Dr. Samantha Brody provides exercises in her book (see below) to help you get crystal clear about how you want to feel mentally, emotionally, and physically. Without an understanding of where we want to be, it’s simply a stroke of luck if we ever get there.
With a clear vision, it becomes possible for you to vet choices on a day-to-day basis that add up to a life aligned with your own values and goals.
Avoid Accumulation of Daily Stresses by Establishing Your Foundation
Step 2
Here, you will look at a number of things to help lay the foundation before you start to look at the accumulation of stresses that impact you.
First up, is looking at different approaches to making change so you understand what will work best for you.
Next, you will look at common roadblocks keeping you from making effective change. You follow this by thinking about who can help you with making and implementing your plan once you get there.
Finally, you will look at creating a mindset to face any of your challenges head-on, so you can create a life that lines up simply and elegantly with the Step 1 above.
Fight Stress by Taking Your Overwhelm Inventory
Step 3
Stress manifests itself in many different ways. You need to take a look at many components that create such a huge overwhelm that push you into a stress zone.
We become overwhelmed in part because we are juggling too many commitments and responsibilities, and in part from life’s most stressful events — divorce, moving, sick relatives, new partners, even Christmas. But there are many other contributing factors as well: a cluttered drawer, a walk not taken, an uneasy relationship with a new co-worker, an insurance claim denied for no discernible reason, another work lunch eaten at your desk while rushing to meet a deadline – stress generated by the everyday challenges of everyday life and the moment-to-moment choices we make on a day-to day-basis.
This understanding becomes your foundation in the preparation to handle and reduce stress anywhere and at any Moment in life.
Managing Stress – Craft Your Personal Plan
Step 4
Managing stress takes your initiative and desire to change some things in life. Change is a process, not a snap-your-fingers magic trick. There are no predetermined steps that people can take to get to the life they crave. By creating a comprehensive picture of what healthy and happy looks like, both in the short and long term, you will begin your journey to a more joyful life.
Writing down the obstacles in the way to joy, you will see clearly which things in your life contribute the most to your overwhelm, and which are the easiest to take out.
Overcoming Overwhelm: Dismantle Your Stress from the Inside Out
This book by Dr. Samantha Brody will help you to understand better what’s going on in your life and HOW TO handle stress in a most profound way that is truly healing to you. With several different possible approaches based on your individual preferences for change, you will design your own plan to move toward both immediate fixes and long-term solutions for optimal health and well-being, ease, and happiness – whatever that may look like for you.
A Practical Approach to Finally Overcoming Unnecessary Stress and Anxiety
Dealing With Stress
Stress and anxiety can easily destroy a person’s health and well-being. It’s the battle cry of our culture, and it’s making millions of us sick, tired, and frustrated. Why? Because we simply can’t solve stress and overwhelm by doing more and more of what we’ve been doing. Holding peace of mind and practicing the steps that will help you to deal with stress at home, at school, in the moment are the most important practical solutions of how to handle stress in an effective way.
This is not a stress management book nor a missive about not sweating the small stuff. It doesn’t offer a new approach to organization or a system for fitting more into every hour. It is a simple, actionable step-by-step process to guide you to understand what is most important and to make a concrete plan to get there.
Managing and reducing stress is a system to change your life and health for the better. These changes are as you define them. That is why they will be on your own terms, practical, reasonable, and sustainable. First, because you’ve made room for those changes. Second, because you’ve chosen the approaches that will actually work for you.
You don’t need new ways to manage your stress, you need to prevent it from overwhelming you in the first place. – Dr. Samantha Brody
For decades, Dr. Samantha has helped people to transform their lives with her innovative approach. Now you can use the same tested tools and guidance to experience the freedom of better health, greater resilience, and peace of mind.
4-Step Approach for How To Manage Stress on Daily Basis
Step 1 – Find Your True North
Clarify what is truly important to you. Who do you want to be, how do you want to feel, and what do you want your day-to-day life to look like?
Step 2 – Establish Your Foundation
Identify what roadblocks may get in your way of making the changes that will help you live the life of ease you crave. You’ll make a plan for assembling a team that can help you reach your goals, and you’ll fortify your mindset to prepare for success.
Step 3 – Take Your Overwhelm Inventory
Determine your unique causes of stress (some obvious, and many that will surprise you) in your physical surroundings, health, habits, relationships, thinking patterns, and more.
Step 4 – Create and Launch Your Personal Plan
Start making the targeted changes that will help you rid your life of overwhelm and radically improve your well-being on all levels—body, mind, and spirit.

This is an excellent article. Stress has always been a health killer for me. And now I see my daughter doing the same thing to herself. I am definitely going to try to set up this plan and work on dealing with stress better. I want to be a better example for her.

I like the idea of naming your goals and desires. When we take the time to put a name to them, it’s easier to narrow down what is REALLY important in our lives, and then let the other fluff go.
great tips.. stress usually is not a issue for me but this year has been stressful and seems like it won’t let up between the whole government shut down and other health issues ugh !
I think step 2 is the most important and the hardest step to achieve. It can be very hard to identify what is your tipping point but once you do it makes handling it a little easier.
These are some very helpful and actually even unique, specific steps to helping with anxiety and stress. I’m really impressed. I suffer from anxiety disorder and PTSD so I really pay attention to such things. A few that help me are using self hypnosis, sessions in our massage chair, nature walks, cuddling my husband and our pets and feeding and watching and photographing wildlife, playing like a kid at heart, and swimming laps in the pool too.
I also function better with less anxiety if I make a to do list in the morning and find satisfaction in crossing items off and it also helps me stay focused on what is important to me rather than get caught up in over thinking it all.
Thank you so much for these tips and suggestions, I am doing more meditating, I just find it helps so much in my daily life.
