Create Holiday Traditions With Ambience

I love cooking! And by that I truly mean that making up new recipes as I go along is one of my favorite things to do!

What is true about human nature is that everything that we see, hear, smell, touch, feel, – echoes back and feeds into our complex nervous system. This is a true fact that people may not remember what they said or heard or learned  long time ago. But they would definitely remember how they felt.

No surprise that situations accompanied by music, smells, kinesthetic experiences are those that are stored in our brain and memories forever.

That’s why it’s important to create moments where we are absorbed with not only what we are doing, rather with enjoyment of the process itself.

When it comes to food and to amplify the tasting experience, the surroundings and the dinnerware play a huge part contributing to enjoyment of this meal this very moment.

What special plates, cups, forks do you keep in your kitchen cabinets? I’ve got some coming from the last century, handed to me from three generations down. Those cups and plates are incredible! They allow me to feel and reflect on those times and people they used to belong to.

But I love to create memories in my own family by gifting dinner sets to my children. First, they were plastic dinnerware. Now, I am picking their first ceramic plate and cup set. That’s what my mom did for us many years ago. Every child had their own plates and cups. I still have something left from those days, unshattered, unharmed, in one piece!
