Greek Yogurt Banana Split
Every morning I start with a glass of water that has apple cider, sometimes lemon. To get a good flush-out of bodily by-products is something we forget about. During the night, our body goes through a huge process of regeneration that has by-products from the chemical reactions starting on the cellular level. All that “gunk” has to find a way out of the body. To ease with the process of detoxification, we could drink good clean water.
Fruit and veggie contribute on a big scale to pump more minerals, vitamins and fiber back into the system to get things going for the entire day. I make something like oatmeal with crumbled nutty morsels and fruit. Sometimes I drink smoothies. Today, I made this Greek Yogurt Banana Split that will take me sailing for a few hours before my lunch idea becomes more evident to me.
I lined a banana with a thin layer of greek yogurt and loaded this vessel with raspberries, blueberries, mint to give it a powerful aroma of essential oil, and roasted pumpkin seeds. The combination – no matter how weird or unusual it may be – tastes Fabulous!
Looking at food of other people’s making can bring in fresh ideas for different recipes. Yet what truly can inspire you is your own creations – something you do for your body and well-being.
Look, these banana splits are so easy to make! Just load them with your favorite pieces of fruit and berries and sail away into the day!

Oh wow, these look absolutely delicious! What a fantastic idea! I have never thought of this!
Echo,
Now there’s no excuse not to make them in your kitchen!
MAKE ONE TODAY! Even if you’re late for breakfast! Make it a SAILING SNACK TIME!
My husband loves regular banana splits, but he’s on a health kick right now. I bet he would love this idea. I can’t wait to share it with him.
Stephanie,
Very simple ideas can become strong habits. Yes, make it for your hubby and yourself, too!
This is a cool idea of a banana split breakfast. I have never tried or heard of this idea but I may have to give it a try for my kids and I.
Dee,
It is a powerful way to include children into the process of food preparation.
Let them imagine things as you are telling them why each berry, each fruit piece will make their bodies feel good and brain think clearly.
Have a FAB Sailing Banana Boat Time!
What a healthy treat. I love everything you incorporated in this, what a great idea. My kids would sure enjoy this as they love fruits!
Rose,
Kids would appreciate even making their own Banana Boats! Make it fun and explain why such food boats are amazing for their bodies.
Your banana split breakfast is making me crave fruit. It looks so healthy and yummy. Great way to start your mornings.
Michele,
Even if you are late for breakfast, make it Banana Split lunch or snack time!
My kids absolutely love having dessert every night but I try to keep them away from tons of sugar before bedtime so this looks like the perfect thing for them. Can’t wait to try it out tomorrow night!
Amanda,
Get the kids around you to show them how you make these amazing banana boats. These moments will be an incredible time to “catch” things and remember them for life.
Such a cute idea! I’m always on the go in the mornings and never have time for breakfast at home. But will have to try this on the weekend.
Jacqui,
Totally get you with your super busy schedule.
This year I dedicate to be more mindful of how I approach things.
Eating food that gives me emotional satisfaction of making it and then tasting it, helps my heart to feel full and satisfied.
Empty heart = Empty stomach.
Please take a moment of mindfulness of enjoying your breakfast, lunch and dinner, and snacks.
I love having greek yogurt for breakfast. I top it with some granola and fresh fruits. This banana split is something I can’t wait to recreate!
Jenn,
I also use Creme Fraiche to line my banana boats. It takes just a little bit of it, but it tastes heavenly!
That’s a great way to enjoy Greek yogourt in the morning! I’m going to try your recipe!
Lori,
Please give it a try and introduce something new into your routine.
This looks like a tasty, healthy treat! Much better for you than a traditional banana split, but still tasty enough to satisfy a sweet tooth.
Pam,
Also try Creme Fraiche in place of Greek Yogurt. It is a bit richer and takes less to line the banana boat!
What a healthy yet yummy idea. My grands would love this. So going to make it this weekend. Thanks for sharing!
Kathy,
This is one of the favorites for children as well. Just fill a papaya with the berries and fruits they love!
I already have a weakness for banana splits but let’s talk about how you use Greek yogurt for it. How delicious! Love how Greek yogurt is thick – I love its consistency.
Lisa,
Wow, I’ll give you one more “lining” for a papaya before you fill it with the berries and fruit of choice –> I use also Creme Fraiche – the taste is heavenly! You don’t need a lot, just a film of creme fraiche to coat the walls of the papaya.
Enjoy!
A healthy banana split for breakfast? Yes! I love how you split the banana and made it into a boat to hold all the other goodies. I love fruit and this is a great way to start the day off right. Looks so yummy!
Alli,
All it takes is a few steps and make it look gorgeous. No cooking – just cutting and peeling!
Enjoy!
Oh how yummy! I am always on the hunt for great new breakfast ideas. I can’t wait to make this.
Just grab a couple papayas at the store and have 2 days filled with fruit and berries!
Enjoy, Robin!
