How would you like to spend your whole afternoon with a BrylaneHome Turbo Hand/Stand Mixer?
Our super cook Shawrine got so excited and enthusiastic with her new mixer, that she went ahead and created the whole show for her easy-to-make recipes and do it with some kitchen gadgets!
If you are a woman that cooks at all, you probably have had at one time or another, a secret desire for a Stand Mixer. Usually when I am tired of cooking the same old things and am searching for new recipes for my family or when the New Year rolls around and I get on a “health kick” promising to cook with more organic and healthy ingredients. It is then that I find delicious recipes that usually call for kitchen tools, mainly a stand mixer that I have yet to acquire.
Years ago, when everyone my age was getting married, many of my girlfriends received stand mixers as wedding gifts. I was not so lucky. Months later those beautiful stand mixers were just taking up space on their kitchen counters. Still yet, I was envious.
Many years later my mother-in-law received one as a birthday gift. Don’t get me wrong, I would have probably been upset with my husband if he gave me a mixer for my birthday, but WOW did she make the best chocolate cake I ever tasted with her shiny stand mixer!
When given the opportunity to spend an afternoon with the BrylaneHome Hand/Stand Mixer, I was elated! After a few simple steps, I simply followed the directions that included black and white photos.
I snapped the head support, the part that holds the mixer into the grooves of the stand. Attached the silver bowl and placed the mixer onto the head support. I was ready to rock and roll!
I explored with the web with my printer humming, I couldn’t decide what to cook first. “Ok, relax,” I told myself, “keep it simple.” Start with something everyone likes. Good homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies. I wanted to start from scratch and let the machine do the work.
For once, I didn’t have to stand there with a wooden spoon and stir until my arm was tired and take the chance that all the ingredients were not thoroughly mixed.
Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Cookie
2 ¼ cup of all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 sticks of butter softened
¾ cup of sugar
¾ cups packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups of chocolate chips
Combine all of the dry ingredients first and then add the liquids.
Mix, bake at 350 degrees for 9-11 minutes.
The BrylaneHome Hand/Stand mixer combined all of the ingredients like a pro. No lumps or clumps of butter or sugar. As I added all of the ingredients, I was surprised at how I was able to continue working on other things in the kitchen and make cookies at the same time. The mixing bowl rotates automatically.
So this is what it means to be “hands free.” I feel having this tool on my kitchen counter is going to make my life easier and faster. I Love It!
I was on a roll! Usually after making homemade cookies, I would have been ready to clean up and on to the next household chore, but I have to say I was really excited to use two more of the recipes I found. So I quickly lifted the handle of the mixer, removed the bowl and the beaters, washed them with a little soap and warm water.
