Energy Balls Or Apple Nutmeg Bites Recipe
A Perfect Substitute To A Store-Bought Energy Bar
A lot of bars in the store, when you start reading the labels, have the same base for their energy or protein bars or health bars – dates! Dates are a perfect connective tissue for the ingredients that are being put inside the bars. Freeze dried berries, coconut flakes, nuts and seeds – all is acceptable in a recipe that will satisfy your sweet tooth and bring the maximum nutrition for your snack time.
This Recipe Can be Made Nuts FREE
For those who don’t like or allergic to nuts, make this recipe sing without anything nutty inside! Substitute nuts with your choice of freeze dried berries or seeds. Goji berries would be a perfect addition to this recipe, if you have any in store at your pantry.
Store in The Fridge or Freezer
I store these energy balls in a glass container inside the fridge. When I make a large batch, I separate it between fridge and freezer. These Apple Nutmeg Bites taste great even out of the freezer and can live there for a few weeks. But I can assure you that with the kids, they won’t last for a long time. My kids take these to soccer practice, to hiking trips, and when we go on a road trip in our car. Much better to satisfy hunger with these tiny bites than consume a bag of potato chips.
