Have you noticed that the crowds at the gym are become sparse and more rare? I did.
For those who put circumstances as an excuse for no physical activity, then please consider this option – You don’t have to go to the gym to get a full benefit of moving and lifting weights! You can walk, you can take mini power walks around the block, you can do sit-ups and lounges right there at your desk.
Or you could bike if you have a bicycle!
The two elements you would need to add to the mix is your ability to do what you need to do and your determination to do it. Call it desire, motivation or your need – you gotta want it to get out there and do a few minutes of vigorous activities every single day.
For those of you who have bicycles at home, you may be up to something big and glamorous for your lifestyle. Disregard Not these benefits that biking brings when you push those pedals with all your mighty power and enjoy the scenery at the same time.
I’d love to give a huge hug to the DURBAN Bikes USA Team for encouragement to use such a simple tool as a bicycle to get health benefits – and body shape benefits – all for the mere love of riding a bike.
Here are my top THREE Benefits that bike riding could bring into your life, too.
#1 Pedaling Hard Makes Your Heart Grow Stronger
Yes, you’ve heard it right! With biking, you get the same cardiovascular benefits as from other forms of aerobic exercises like running, walking or dancing. The harder you pedal, the higher heart rate you get. Please check my post about the importance of staying in the Target Heart Rate Zone! You don’t want to burn your muscles, rather extra unwanted pounds.
#2 Biking Has It Easy
When you start your exercising routine with a significant extra weight, worry not! Such activities like biking or swimming may be much advantageous for you at the initial stage. Both are gentle and easy on your joints, thus help to preserve your cartilage. For those with foot and lower back problems, biking could be an answer how to incorporate physical exercise into your life with less pain and strain.
With your regular biking, you will have control over incremental weight gain and the expansion of the waistline. What’s not to like about biking?
#3 Biking Makes It Flexible
Flexible is like in ‘flexible time to get your exercise done.’ If you think you don’t have time to go the gym – consider your bike that is waiting for you out there to bring that flexibility and a sense of accomplishment to you after you ride it!
Even 10-15 minutes here and there during the day are more powerful than nothing at all. Besides, short bursts of vigorous exercise bring the same benefits as long ones. Instead of an hour at the gym do 3-4 biking sessions outside. You will get short brakes that will give you energy bursts without anything extra like energy drinks.
And for those who likes riding in the parks and along the nature paths, a DURBAN Metro bike is easy to deal with – one, two, three, and it’s folded within a few moves.
Huge benefits for this DURBAN Metro bike are the adjustability of the seat and steer wheel, and its collapsible nature for transportation purposes. When you child rides – adjust the height of the wheel and seat for her or him, and let your kid ride the heart out! When you need to grab it for a quick fun exercise – do the same: adjust and enjoy the ride!
Look how nifty my DURBAN Metro folds for the car ride!
Whatever bike you’ve got – USE IT to get fitter this season, rather than waiting for the next week or month to start your exercise routine. Waiting won’t get you or me anywhere further from where we are today. What truly makes a difference is Taking Action. Only by Doing something do we find the enjoyment and truth of things.

That’s a cool bike. We bike as often as we can when weather permits, sadly it’s not often in the desert but it’s a relaxing way to speed some time together and getting exercise.
Our kids love to ride bikes! I think these bikes would definitely be a great fit for our kids. Thanks for sharing.
When I saw “Durban”, I got so excited. I thought you visited my hometown in South Africa. hehe. Awesome bike.
I am not much of a biker but I’d like to be. This bike is so unique and looks like a lot of fun!
I love that! We’d bike a lot more often if our bikes were more convenient to travel with.
That is such a neat bike! Not only does it look nice, but it is super convenient to bring with you places.
Biking can be such a great option for families to get involved together. My boys love it!
Our family loves to bike together. There are some great trails in MN and we love to explore them. Both of our kids need a bigger bike soon so I will be checking into the DURBAN to see if it might work for them.
That really looks like a neat bike. I love how it just folds up to take your bike everywhere.
I love that this one folds up and stows away! We are always crowded in the back of our suv with picnic baskets, safety gear, coolers and the bikes. This will be a perfect bike for the boys!
That looks like a really neat bike. My husband and I have been wanting to get ourselves bikes. Hopefully over the summer we can get some so we can go bike riding with our girls. They love riding bike too! I haven’t been on a bike in years!
I absolutely agree. You don’t have to go to the gym to workout, there’s so many things you can do even at home.
This bike is awesome! This would be perfect for our road trips. We bike a lot, and we are always trying to find a way to save room when we travel.
I have not biked in years. I used to love to, but now I get bruises on my butt. I have not found a good seat that is comfortable.
Such a cool design. I am sure my son will love this bike and my daughter will be so jealous
Looks like a cool bike. I love a bike can fold like this. I can bring it anywhere
That looks like a really cool bike!! My nieces would love this!!
I love th e look of this bike. My kids would have loved one. We like to go on bike rides. We have nice trails near by.
I think it is a pretty awesome bike. I would totally love it! Oh and my kids would too. 🙂
This bike looks super neat! I can’t wait for it to be spring and done snowing here in WI (we just got more snow yesterday and today) so that the kids and I can go out and start bike riding again.
We have a small car so this would be PEFECT! We haven’t biked in a long time, but we will go now for sure I love this bike!
A fold up bike? Heck yes! I love cycling. It’s kinda hard doing it as a family because I have a child in a wheelchair and he is too big for the attachments or wagons, yet not able to bike by himself. Instead, I have my bike set up on a trainer inside my house.
I agree that biking is excellent exercise. As a kid we biked everywhere. I use to bike 30 minutes one way to school as well everyday. Back in my day (ha..ha…) parents did not drive their kids to and from school. We could walk or we could ride our bikes. My friends and I normally rode our bikes 🙂
How cool that it folds like that. It sure sounds like it’s easy to store.
