Buying a new home is a complex and very stressful time. Though we can be very much well prepared to jump through all the hoops and paperwork, we still learn along the way. One of the things we need to make sure of is to put in place many protection plans for different little things while keeping the cost at bay.
The company of home warranty called HomeMembership has some interesting information to learn and to offer solutions to protect our properties.
H2
For example: The waterline in your home breaks. This is an expensive job that would have cost the homeowner $2600. But because they had a HomeMembership plan they ONLY paid a $75 deductible to have it repaired.
- Repair Bill: $2600
- HomeMembership yearly cost: $550
- Deductible: $75
Total Saved: $1975 with just 1 repair!
HomeMembership also covers repairs on your AC and heating units, plumbing issues, appliances like your dishwasher and oven, and electrical issues.
HomeMembership will also be offering a home maintenance plan to help keep your appliances working. Did you know that it is estimated that 80% of all HVAC will break down is because it hasn’t been properly maintained. Cleaning your dryer, changing batteries in your smoke alarm and flushing out your water heater are all things that need to be done – but most people don’t know this or forget to do this.
Give yourself peace of mind knowing that your home warranty plan with HomeMembership will pay to have things repaired and that things will last longer and run more efficiently with a home maintenance plan.

Yes, I would pay a small monthly fee if the maintenance agreement covered everything.
I had such a plan on a previous home and every time I needed something to be done I was charged for a service call only to be told my repairs weren’t covered. So, no, I would not be inclined to pay for another maintenance plan.
We would not be inclined to join a home warranty plan.
It would depend on what it covers.
No I would not want a home maintenance plan.
Hmm, I think it might come in handy. I’d love to know things would be taken care of.
I probably wouldnt pay a fee for a maintenance plan
It depends on how much the plan costs and what it covers.
I’d only pay if the fee was very small
I might pay a small monthly fee to have a home maintenance plan.
No, have done this in our last home and it was a complete waste of money.
No, at this time I wouldn’t. I have a husband and two grown boys.
Yes…kinda like a car warranty. The only thing that would concern me would be the cost of coverage and the exclusions…
i think a small monthly fee for home maintenance plan would be great, i need the help
Yes, i would pay a SMALL monthly fee for a maintenance plan. it would be beneficial because it’s something you have to do sooner or later.
I’m currently renting my house but when I buy my own home, yes I would certainly think about it.
No my husband does all our maintenance
I wouldn’t want a plan mainly because we are able to do most things ourselves.
No
i would probably not use a home maintenance plan. we are very handy
I’m not sure I would use a plan, my sons can pretty much takes care of any problems that come up.
I do have a home warranty program–maintenance is an incorrect term for it–and the fee is not particularly small. However, it has been of good use in a couple of fairly major problems.
I probably would not use that.
Thanks for the contest.
I do not
I would love to have a home maintenance plan but have always wondered if it would be worth it.
It would depend on what it covers. I prefer to do things myself if I can, otherwise I have family members that help do things that I can’t.
No, I would not.
I do not.
I would be interested in looking into this. It would depend on what was covered and the cost of the monthly plan.
probably not a thing we would use
No, I prefer fixing things ourselves.
I think it’d be very convenient to pay a monthly fee for it!
Were trying to build a new apartment, so honestly I would try to buy painting supplies or in general supplies that will aid in the construction of my house.
It would all really have to do with what all came with it. It sounds pretty great. But would love to look more into it.
I would rather do the repairs myself instead of paying someone else to do it.
I might be interested in a home maintenance service depending on what is covered. I think the peace of mind would be well worth it.
Depending on what the program covered, I think it would be worth the small payments monthly instead of a giant payment to repair something
While I am hoping to downsize , if I ever buy again, I would definitely entertain the option of paying a monthly maintenance fee?
If it makes you feel better.
No way
Yes, I would consider it upon reviewing all of the terms. I have sons to do a lot for me, but I don’t want to burden them if I do not have to!
I would not like to pay a monthly fee to have a home maintenance plan for my home. My current residence is not a good enough home to add this type of expenditure.
It’s not something I would use at this time.
Not really. I can fix just about anything with YouTube’s help.
I guess it would depend. I really am about saving money so I would have to see how doing it or not doing it would benefit in the end.
No, my husband is really handy and does everything himself.
I think it’s an interesting idea, but not something I currently need.
No my husband tries to fix it himself and usually succeeds. He won’t pay for anything he can do himself
I think a home plan sounds great, especially as I get older.
No I wouldn’t.
Not likely to need this service
I do not think I would pay a monthly fee for a home warranty.
No, I’ll fix it myself
We just moved into a newer home, we are pretty handy so we wouldn’t use the monthly program
My fiance is really handy, so I would save the monthly fee and let him make my repairs.
no
No to a warranty, we repair things when needed.
I would buy paint for my house.
I’m more of a pay when I actually have a problem kind of guy.
It would depend on what it would cover. We just bought a house and will need to replace the furnace so maybe…
It would matter how much it would cost.
No, I’ll fix it myself
Im not sure if I could pay a small fee for this service each month
It’s something I would consider. There’s always something that needs attention around the house.
I think home warranties are a great idea. They can really save you money. It depends on the company you get it from, which hopefully is very resposive so that you’re not freezing while waiting for them to come and fix your furnace.
oh yes i would pay a monthly fee for a maintenance program of some type, getting my husband to do stuff around the house is like pulling teeth so i for sure could use a program like that.

A Home Depot gift card would always come in handy, we always need things for the home. We need to repaint the trim on our home, so I would use it to purchase paint.
Jill,
Isn’t it right: we all have something going on on the “repair” or update side within our homes.
A home is a living and breathing entity, isn’t it?
yes, we are finishing parts of the basement
We need some new ceiling fans and blinds so this would be handy!
I am making a memorial garden in honor of my husband. I can use the gc for soil, flowers, mulch and more.
This spring our project is to finally get our garage organized. Hubby and I will go through everything, throw out useless items, perhaps have a garage sale for things we don’t want anymore and buy storage shelves to put everything where it should be.
Terri,
A garage is a everyone’s “soft” spot. We pile out things that we “intend” to use in the future.
I have eliminated a ton of stuff that is great by donating this past month. Still, I can do more. Will be organizing my troops in the coming week, as the school year will be over.
I would like to paint the living room.

I would put that towards paint for the bathroom and hall.
Debijot,
This gift card would be an awesome addition to your spending on such needed home project!
We plan to paint the garage.
I’d hold onto the card for a while as I’m planning to buy a home soon and may need some odds and ends to fix it up.

You bet you will need extra funds to make improvements, changes, some minor repairs in a new place. Any gift card would be a great support.
I would get some Spring plants and soil.
