Playing is an important developmental stage in each child’s growth. Toys that encourage the development of speech, motor skills, and brain functions are the ones that can be played with again and again. Dolls are one of them. I remember my own childhood and how fascinated I was with the ability to cloth my dolls, to make dresses and aprons and hats for them.

I remember studying again and again their eyes, doing and re-doing their hairdos again and again. This process of playing with dolls has been an ongoing process and I learned different skills while playing, like sewing, cradling a baby doll, having a conversation with a “real person” –  my doll. All of that builds a platform for a richer life, healthy self-esteem, and compassionate attitude towards people.

  3. What a beautiful doll, She looks like she is taking good care of her doll. I didn’t realize they made these dolls. I just have to get one for my Granddaughter. It’s amazing how much having a doll can mean so much and it carry over into adulthood.

  7. I can not believe that they are celebrating the 81st anniversary, wow. I love the books, I loved the television show and these dolls are beautiful. I would love to share the books and the dolls with my youngest granddaughter, I know she would love the dolls and as she gets older the books too.

  46. I’m a little young to be able to fully appreciate Little House On The Prarie but I think it’s amazing that even after being around so long, they’re still around and making dolls now!

  50. I think this is just the coolest doll! I loved Little House on the Prairie when I was a child. Sometimes, I still watch an episode when it appears on the TV.
