How long do you usually brush your own teeth? And your child, how long does she spend brushing hers?
Do you know that to prevent plaque building and to ensure health of your gums, the brushing process should be allocated at least 2 minutes? Yes, that’s how long it takes to clean your teeth. Mouthful, isn’t it? But doable.
As a reminder and helper, Arm & Hammer has developed a Tooth Tunes™ tooth brush featuring one of a kind Music in Your Mouth™ technology. Sound vibrations from the bristles reach the child’s teeth, allowing a child to listen to the music while they brush.
Where’s the trick? It’s in the time of brushing! Two minutes – that’s exactly for how long a child would be listening to a music tune and brushing her teeth at the same time. No timer needed! Just don’t quit brushing until the music is over. That’s simple.
What’s the music playing, you’d ask? This time, it is brushing with One Direction!
ARM & HAMMER™ Tooth Tunes™ featuring One Direction is the only toothbrush that plays One Direction in North America. There are two songs currently played by One Direction that kids would love to listen to: “What Makes You Beautiful” and “One Thing.”
If your child would like a different song by a different artist, ARM & HAMMER™ has covered that, too! You can find your Tooth Tunes™ brush at any drug and food retailers nationwide for $9.99. And here’s a list of inventory available to satisfy any music taste and preference:
“All Day” performed by Cody Simpson
“Dynamite” performed by Taio Cruz
“I Gotta Feeling” performed by Black Eyed Peas
“If I Ruled the World” performed by Big Time Rush
“Round & Round” performed by Selena Gomez & The Scene
“We Will Rock You” performed by Queen
To make this brushing process easier and more habitual, talk to your child about the importance of brushing, especially before going to bed. Make sure you emphasize the following important points to your child:
Brush Lightly for 2 Minutes Each Time
With too much pressure during brushing, the gums could quickly deteriorate. Receding gums is a huge problem. Not only teeth become sensitive, they can be a good target for plaque. Brushing teeth for 2 full minutes would do a great job to get rid of bacteria that would love to attach your teeth.
Teach Your Child A Tooth Brushing Routine
Explain and show your child how to brush individual teeth. Tell her that once she remembers her routine of brushing, it will become second nature.
Explain Importance of Changing Toothbrushes Regularly
It takes about three months for a toothbrush to do a good cleaning job for your teeth. After that, replace your old toothbrush with a new one. Always choose a toothbrush with soft or extra-soft bristle.
With these simple steps to follow, each child can easily benefit from regular tooth brushing. Teeth cannot wait! Start teeth brushing training as early as your child is capable of holding her own toothbrush. Start brushing with water, then transition to an all-natural tooth paste.
She will thank you for her beautiful teeth and for giving her a gift of a two-minute-tooth-brushing habit in a not too-far-removed future!
