Each Disney movie release date for DVD and Blu-ray editions is treasured by all movie fans. I know quite a few friends of mine who are enamored with Dan Stevens and his magical way to use his “beast” voice in the movie. How Dan Stevens found his inner beast for this Disney classic is remarkable, too.
Dan Stevens, whom we know from Downton Abbey as Matthew Crawley, has never sung in his life. In one of his interviews, he shared that the skill set for applying for the “beast” role was “pretty basic,” to use his words. What really helped him to raise up to the occasion was the people he worked on the set and the technology used throughout this Disney marvel.
Disney’s Beauty And The Beast Live Action Adaptation

JUNE 6, 2017
Here’s one more Disney Classic-bound movie of the summer on blu-ray dvd – Beauty and the Beast. So much has been said about the movie. So many amazing inspirational projects have been launched, including fashion and home design. All thanks to the creative minds of Disney director Bill Condon.
I truly appreciate Bill Condon’s effort to bring in some familiarity into the movie from the animation counterpart. One of them is the voice of Celine Dion. She landed her brilliant voice to Beauty And The Beast 25 years ago. This Disney movie is a new celebration of her voice on a big screen.
Watch this scene from the Table Read session, when actors are playing out the scenes and words from their roles. Unexpected and unscripted things do happen during these so emotional sessions.
One more Table Read Episode
If you have never heard of the Table Read sessions, you are not alone. These are the sessions that allow all participants – both the makers, writers and acting talent – to showcase what they are doing in the movie. By doing so, everybody has chance to connect to each other. Hence, we get some of the best movies later.
The Creative Minds & Eyes & Hands Who Make the Movie Sing!
Beauty and the Beast movie has some of the best women working next to each other.
From set decorator Katie Spencer and set designer Sarah Greenwood, costume designer Jacqueline Durran, makeup and hair designer Jenny Shircore, the acting talent received some of the most magical costumes and looks.
Director Bill Condon made sure he got some of the best writers and editors for the script like Virginia Katz and casting director Lucy Bevan.
The upcoming blu-ray DVD is a diamond collection of gems I’ve never seen before. It is one of the most extended in bonuses that tell us the entire story of how the movie was made. Deleted scenes, song selections, making a moment with Celine Dion, sharing a story about the women behind Beauty and the Beast, and so much more! I am barely holding on to my patience – can’t wait to explore it all!

I LOVED this movie and so did my kids!
My family and I finally had the opportunity to watch this movie and we were in all of the intricate details that went into creating this beautiful film! We don’t own the DVD yet, but it’s on our to-do list.
I love “Beauty and the Beast,” but it’s so hard to convince your boys to watch it with you. 🙂 So good to know it’s now available on DVD. Will sure get me a copy!
Wow, Lynndee,
My boys and their friends asked for it. They are 9-10 yo, and they loved the movie.
We watched it in the evening, with great corn-on-the-cob and pudding as a dessert. All of them were happy!
I haven’t seen it yet! I cant wait it looks so good!
I’m really glad that they release a new copy of Disney Beauty and the Beast. My nieces really loves it.

Beauty and the Beast is one of the best Disney stories ever. Even from the start, I rooted it for the Beast. PS. I loved Emma’s performance. And can’t wait to own the DVD.
I know my daughter and husband want to see this one. Long story short, we thought we were watching this one and it turned out to be a French version that also just came out so we are way behind and need to pick this up.

I love this movie! It was my favourite as a cartoon and they did a fabulous job creating it as a live action movie! The costumes, the actors and the special effects are out of this world. I love how they stayed true to the original movie as well!
It was interesting to read about the deleted scenes. Wonderful so many great women were involved in making this wonderful movie. Yes Celine voice makes the music come alive.
Celine looks so lovely in that yellow dress in the video!!! I still have yet to see this live adaptation! I need to get on it!
I liked the live version of Beauty and the Beast but I LOVED the animated version. It’s one of my favorite Disney flicks.
