Sun Protection With Sunscreens
It is a well-known fact that the first line of defense of our entire body is the SKIN. And that applying sunscreen daily and within each season are the prerequisites for your anti-aging beauty. Though an SPF lotion cannot thicken the epidermis, it does prevent it from further thinning especially in menopause women.
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. With the sunscreen SPF 30, the blocking power of the lotion from the sun’s radiation is 97%. And with the SPF 50, such protection rises by 1%, from 97 % to 98%.
You can see that wearing sunscreen with SPF 30 creates a powerful protective shield for your skin!
Explore some of the top and effective sunscreens for hyperpigmentation. You will learn a lot of information that could clearly guide you to choose your SPF protection with the safest, non-toxic ingredients. You’ll get examples of sunscreen products and active ingredients that actually do the protection from the damaging effects from the sun.

Anti-Aging Skin Care Using Antioxidants
You’ve heard again and again in your life that it’s important to incorporate antioxidants into your daily diet and skin care regimen. At times it seems that the antioxidant topic has become a mundane one. But fool yourself not! Though you cannot experience an immediate health and beauty effects from consuming and using antioxidants topically, they are ardent workers on preventing drastic skin aging and diseases.
Antioxidants neutralize High Reactive Species aka free radicals by donating to them one of the electrons. Such potent free radical scavenger hunt goes on without rest as our skin is subjected to a constant bombardment from UVA and UVB rays, outside pathogens, dust, and dirt.
Without doubt, antioxidants repair your skin tissues, prevent the skin from immediate and deeper damage, thus giving you a true anti-aging support. Repairing photodamage is one of the specialties that antioxidants are dealing with. To help them do their job, do wear your sunscreen daily!
Importance of Vitamin A for Skin Health and Youth
Skin benefits tremendously by using vitamin A skincare products thanks to vitamin’s potent ability to differentiate and proliferate skin cells. Protection of the cellular content is the key to our bodily well-being.
Also, the sun can drastically deplete the skin of vitamin A. Hence this is one of the reasons why people who overindulge in sunbathing and who do not protect their skin from the harmful UV light properly have deep damages within the skin layers. These people age faster, their skin becomes a damaged canvas with hyperpigmentation spots. In addition, sun-damaged skin has a poorly regulated water control. Thus the skin can easily be dry and dehydrated due to TransEpidermal Water Loss aka TEWL.
As retinol supports cell turnover, skin gains its renewed cover in the form of younger and healthy skin cells. It can also reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, sunspots, and other discoloration, giving the skin a more radiant and even-toned appearance.
If you wish to improve your skin health, incorporate vitamin A rich foods and skin care products into your home skin care protocol! By doing so, you shall see success in how your skin looks and feels. Most importantly, you will restore the skin’s anti-aging properties by boosting its immune mechanism.
Vitamin A has magnificent properties:
– Prevents and heals sun damage
– Repairs and normalizes damaged skin
– Maintains your skin’s youthful looks
Recommending Vitamin A for Healthier Skin in Menopause
If you want to know more about all existing types of vitamin A, read my detailed post on Anti-aging Retinoid Therapy for menopause skin.
As our bodies do not manufacture vitamin A, they can easily become depleted of it. Your job is to maintain your body’s balance by choosing from a variety of whole foods that includes different vegetables, herbs, fruit and berries. Only eating form a rich pool of foods, you could maintain a status quo of your bodily systems, skin included.
When it comes to vitamin A skin care, you can begin your home retinoid application if you understand well how vitamin A skin products work. But it is always a huge plus if you consult with your dermatologist and/or esthetician who could educate you about the use of different vitamin A anti-aging product lines.
As everyone of us is a unique person, skin calls for a careful treatment every single time. The dosage of the vitamin A skincare product could be figured out by starting with low and less frequent application. This way, you will see how your skin receptors react to the retinoid application.
The use of retinoids in your personal skin care routine carries positive, life-changing experiences. Removing the dead skin layers from the skin’s surface and opening up the passage for active ingredients is a beautiful way to maintain your menopause skin in ship-shape.
Explore the Bakuchiol benefits for menopause skin. Learn how this natural ingredient is a beautiful alternative to retinol! And retinol can help promote cell turnover, which may lead to thicker, more resilient skin.

Vitamin C Role for Skin’s Appearance
You’ve heard enough of Vitamin C and its skin benefits. But what you may not know is that this incredible water-soluble vitamin synergizes the action of other antioxidants.
Vitamin C prevents oxidation of the vitamin A within your skin and activates the action of vitamin E which loses its effectiveness in the sea of free radicals.
To add to the powers of vitamin C, it is a strong inhibitor of tyrosinase, the enzyme that triggers melanin production within your cells and forms hyperpigmentation.
To make sure you are not deficient in this vitamin, do eat a lot of green leafy vegetables, fruit and berries rich in Vitamin C, and use the skin care products that have a quality ingredients list and effective form of this vitamin in it. I really enjoy the Vitabrid C12 skincare. The company ensures their patented delivery of vitamin C is spread out during the day.
Products with Vitamin C for Menopause Daily Care
Vitamin C is one of my go-to ingredients when I implement my personal skin care. The positive skin effects on the skin by using skincare boosted with vitamin C are many. This superhero vitamin not only increases the production of collagen reserves, it also supports the action of other antioxidants like Vitamin E and increases the protection of the epidermal layer of your skin. This vitamin contributes to the anti-aging anti-stress skin maintenance very effectively.
Here are some of my favorite skincare products I use all the time and recommend for an effective, non-toxic menopause skin care regimen.
– Balancing Cleansing Balm, Melt Away Sorbet by Vitabrid C12. Shop for it .

– Also, test Eve Hansen Serum with both Vitamins C + E. It is hydrating and has super antioxidants in the formulation as well, get it HERE.
Vitamin E Protects Collagen from Destruction by UV Rays
It is a fact that Vitamin E is an oil-soluble antioxidant that protects collagen from the damage by UV rays. But the scientists have discovered that it is easily inactivated when exposed to the environment overloaded with free radicals.
Now, remember this important finding that not many women are aware of. Using Vitamin E in tandem with Vitamin C protects the potency and activity of the vitamin E! Working in synergy, you are boosting the antioxidant effect that these two ingredients are capable of!
Vitamin C reactivates the antioxidant mechanism of vitamin E. And together, they provide a super potent effect for protection of your menopause skin from the damages inside-out. I am totally humbled how Mother Nature works wonders every moment of our lives here.

Great read. It’s definitely important to include sun protection in your daily routine but it’s so interesting to learn about which products are suitable for mature skin. Thanks for sharing.
Tammy,
You’re so welcome!
Sun protection becomes more vital as the skin loses its many abilities to defend itself more efficiently. Yet, it does not mean that a mature skin cannot defend itself properly.
The skin care regimen is a powerful insurance that your skin will perform at its peak no matter your age.
This post is very helpful! Working on skin care and sun protection is definitely something I’ve been focusing on more as I’ve gotten older. It isn’t usually something you think about as a child/teen to do!
Luna,
I agree that I had no idea about sun protection when being very young. Different lifestyles and ideas.

Jupiter,
To be more precise, Vitamin E antioxidant properties become null in the sea of free radicals. But Vitamin C gets Vitamin E’s powers back! ===> Eat vitamin C and E in one meal or at least within one day! They empower each other.
Use skin care where they have both vitamins C and E!
There is a lot of great information here to keep in mind for protecting your skin. It is so important to help keep your skin protected from the sun, it is crazy the kind of damage it can create.
Luna,
True, the sun can heal and bring on the damages that could be irreversible.
