It is a privilege to work with Hill’s Science Diet to bring awareness to pet adoption and to spread the message of healthy pets.
Adoptable Cats Start At Animal Shelters
Any local shelter takes in pets who are at different level of heath. The main goal for each shelter is to find a forever family for each and every pet – that is indisputable. The shelter staff works hard to condition each animal and take care of its health situation to make it more adoptable
The journey for any cat to find its forever parents starts at the animal shelter.
Old or current injuries, age, even breed preferences could be a part that trigger the decision-making process of many visitors to the shelter. But what truly can make a huge difference in each and every pet adoption case are these two critical steps:
#1 Health of Individual Animal
AND
#2 Education of the Adoptive Parents

Adopted in 2009 and Living Happily Ever After with Healthy Snacks,
Play, and Love
Roma was severely abused in his previous life. He was malnourished and didn’t have confidence in anybody. With new food in his life and patience from his new forever home parents and kitty-buddies, he lives a life he deserves – filled with love and proper nutrition to keep his beautiful coat and health thriving.
Adopted in 2007 and Enjoying His Life with Other Adoptive Siblings
This kitty at the moment of adoption was a very obese cat. We literally could see only 2 ears sticking out of a tiny head – the rest was a huge body Zizi could barely move. He could barely walk, leave alone climbing or jumping up onto any chair or sofa. Within about 3-month period of healthy eating, lots of love and care, he was happily moving, jumping, running around the house. Hill’s Science cat food helped him to open a new life with things he could not do before.

Our family has supported our local shelter for years, and our new to us pets come from our local shelter. This sounds like a wonderful program.
It sounds like a great program~! Kudos to them for making it happen!
Glad to hear about projects like these. Wish we had more programs like these here in the Philippines.
I didn’t realize weight was a common issue in shelter pets. If I get a cat, which I’m considering, it will be from a shelter.
I have always tried to adopt from the shelter. My oldest dog we found her at the shelter. She was super timid. Someone supposedly left her in a box on the side of the road. She took a bit to warm up and trust us. Now she doesn’t know any other way. She gets treated like a princess. She puts up with the other two male dogs that we adopted a few years later.
I know my next cat for sure will be adopted; I would love to save a cat!
Happy they have forever homes. Always makes it worthwhile to feed them well.
All of my pets have been adopted one way or another. The cat I have now is a terror and at the moment is busy breaking china objects because I don’t want to go to bed—-I am sitting here contemplating murder–not really I do love her and she is very lucky that the objects she is currently breaking are not more important to me then she is. My temper is steaming right now and I am trying to stay away from her!!!!!!! Yes-she could stand to lose weight– not sure getting her to switch foods would be worth the angst!!!
My kitty was adopted. She is my little sweetie pie. I love her to pieces.
They’re all beautiful. I’m sadly severely allergic to both dogs and cats. My children are dying for a pet they can “hold” as we have fish, lol.
My last dog was adopted and when I’m ready to have a new pet, it too will be adopted. I love companies that make donations to animal shelters as well as the people who adopt the animals. Nutrition is so important in all of our pets lives.
I think it’s great to help spread the word. We don’t have any pets now, but years ago we did have a little dog we adopted from a shelter. She was a very loved member of the family. 🙂
This is truly an amazing program indeed. I have to share this with my brother because his cat is getting chubby. I love your cats they are so cute and they have such awesome personalities indeed. Thanks for sharing.
We have a dog and was adopted. I would never consider getting a pet any other way.
