You probably know that urge to go and create, make some changes to your home decor or your wardrobe, adjust or completely get a new table for that kitchen area that calls for something more inviting and comfortable.
Whatever you’re itching for today to do, just go and Do it! The more frequently you give yourself the outlet to express yourself in different and pleasing your soul ways, the more joy and happiness enter your life. You are the creator of your own bliss, if you want to hear that! And that is the truth.
Look what Elizabeth Attie shared with me the other day. A cool story how her project, planned few months ago, came to reality! And what did she do? She just went and did it!
Happy Spring Itch!

I am no Martha Stewart that’s for sure. But when inspiration hits me, let’s just say it’s like a bull through a china shop!
I decided one day that the huge fake coral I had sitting atop my cabinet was just plain ole blah! After all, I have snorkeled before and the coral I saw in the beautiful Caribbean Sea was anything but the white one staring me in the face.
So off to Home Depot I go, red I decided was the color it needed to be. After determining what shade of red it was going to be, I reached over with certainty and picked out a can of Rust-oleum Colonial Red (gloss).
Heading home with a grin on my face, I was tackling this with vigor of a teenager. Nothing was stopping me, except for groceries, picking up the kids, homework, dinner, tennis practice, tutoring…yeah right! So the little ominous bottle was put on the side, and there it stayed for 4 months.
A little while later, ok – few months later, there it was laughing at me and my aha moment, almost to say “I told you so!” Well, I grabbed paper, neatly overlapped it on the floor, grabbed my soon-to-be-not-white coral, and boy, did I got to town!
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh and there it was my beautiful red coral looking like what I envisioned it to be.
No sooner that thought entered my mind, I realized the fumes of all the spraying caused a nice film of red paint everywhere! On the tile floor, walls, furniture and gasp on my feet!
Not to fret I told myself. Le Savonnier Marseillais All-Purpose liquid soap will take care of that, but I wasn’t so sure!
As I sheepishly walked past my husband and to the kitchen, I grabbed the bottle and said a prayer.
I diluted 1/4 cup of soap in 1 gallon of warm water and started to wipe. And without an ounce of might everything returned to its original – minus the colonial red color, feet included!

Love the bit about the coral I had to laugh b/c I get Aha! ideas and then one of the 3 kids or hubby needs me and it doesn’t happen. Occasionally I do it anyway and that usually wreaks havoc b/c I’m supposed to be feeding the kids, cleaning, etc. Maybe in a few years when they’re more self sufficient.
Great article….still lovin’ mine!!
