I love experimenting with flavors. It is not what you make that counts – it’s what sauce or dip or glaze that you create to go along along with all of the ingredients in the recipe that makes a huge difference in taste. I have started experimenting with Manuka honey that PRI has provided to me to try and test in my home use. Here’s what I’ve done to create my own Tilapia with Manuka Honey and Broccolette recipe.
Manuka honey is the honey from New Zealand and its native manuka bush. The valuable compound in the honey – Leptosperin – is an indicator of the genuine origin of the honey. Manuka honey is a potent food to be added to our regular regiment of different recipes and as a soother for colds and sore throats.
Manuka honey boasting of its anti-bacterial properties has been found to be effective for the following situations:
- SIBO, Low Stomach Acid, Acid Reflux
- Acne and Eczema
- Staph Infections (MRSA)
- Burns, Wounds & Ulcers
- Tooth Decay & Gingivitis
- IBS and IBD
- Sore Throats and Immunity
- Allergies and Sinusitis
Just pay attention to the NUMBER on the label for a real Manuka honey!
Using Manuka Honey with UMF 5+
As A Drizzle Over Tilapia Fillets
You probably have noticed that number on the label for the Manuka honey. The number stands for the Unique Manuka Factor. This number is an indicator of unique properties found in the New Zealand Manuka honey strains. The higher the number, the more superior grade level the Manuka honey is. The superior level is assigned to 16+ grade of the Manuka honey strains.
I Used Flaky Sea Salt for My Tilapia Seasoning
Use Dried Apricots, Coconut Flakes
& Manuka Honey for Flavoring
Mix dried apricots with manuka honey in your food processor. Use this mixture on top of tilapia filets. Sprinkle, if you’re a fan of coconut, with coconut flakes.
Grill Your Favorites Until A Nice Crust Forms
Grill Broccolette in Olive or Coconut Oil,
Drizzle With Some Manuka Honey
Don’t be afraid of a sweet taste – it won’t be that sweet at all! Manuka will add some yummy carmelization, unless you add it during plating.
I Love My Tilapia Served Hot!
The Pacific Resources International (PRI) has a great collection of products based on manuka honey and the natural ingredients sources from New Zealand. Pacific Sea Salt is one of their key products that can be flavored with BBQ flavors and offered in different grades: from fine to coarse to flakes. This salt has no impurities or additives and is dried naturally by the power of the sun.
And if you are looking for snacks – salty or sweet – PRI has something delicious that comes in shape of Salted Caramels and Proper Crisps!
New Zealand Is Famous for Its Delectable Gourmet Honeys
Honeys like Rewarewa are known for their complex flavor structure. They can incorporate many flavors in one tasteful spoon. There’s not describing it in one word. It takes a good amount of exploration by your tastebuds!
