We want a well-behaved and trained dog in our families. We may get upset when a grown-up dog doesn’t do what we ask it to do. Yet often, we refuse to see the root of the problem lies in a well-designed training.
It is understandable when we get a grown-up dog from a shelter to start its training at that stage. It is still doable and needs to be approached with care and respect of the pet.
Yet when we bring a puppy into our house, we have a golden opportunity to train it from the very beginning and from its early learning and exploratory stages of life. It is a fertile period of time when puppies develop their character, their habits and become a member of the family. Why not do the training right and make everybody’s life truly enjoyable? Well-trained dog is a ton of joy for everyone it comes in touch with!

Oh my goodness! Your pup looks like our rose! Puppy training is so hard, but consistency is key!
xx,
Lacey
We have a cat, two turtles and a 15 month old daughter, lol! I want a dog too and if I get it I will sure look for training him/her.
You are so right. I’ve seen many cute puppies that lost their appeal to me when they were biting, not listening and out of control. I love Robin’s videos and how easy they are. We would take them one at a time and work on one skill for awhile before moving to another. It’s made a huge difference for us.
These seem like great tips. Unfortunately I don’t have a pet. But hopefully thes tips will help those pet owners out.
Oh, that is one cute puppy. I won’t be getting a puppy anytime soon but will definitely check out this robin Bennett course when I do get one.
Your puppy looks so adorable. Robin Bennett course looks so interesting. I will definitely share this with my daughter.
I need to share this with my daughter who is at her wits end training her puppy. I have a service dog who was already trained so I wouldn’t have a clue on how to train one. Good thing this info is available for those who need it.
Terri,
Please do a favor to your daughter and her pup! This course is SUPERB! I tried it, checked out the videos, materials and all. It made me feel confident that I want another puppy to train.
The best part is it will be yours for the rest of your life!
Go back and renew your know-how’s any time.
The entire course is so affordable, too! Check it out and enjoy its use once you’re “in.”
As someone who has never had a dog, this is DEFINITELY something I’d need before getting a puppy! I’ve been toying with the idea for a while, but I’d need to be sure that I could 1. Give the puppy enough time and love and 2. That I knew how to train the puppy properly!
Taking care of a puppy is so complicated. You each them to sit meal time manners and so on. Training a puppy now seems to be a process not dissimilar to building character in a child. You seem to have a deep caring for dogs. Thanks for the enlightenment
I’ve never trained a puppy and don’t have a dog, but I definitely want one! When my life allows, I think I will get a puppy and I agree it will be important to train it well and early. Thanks for the info!
There are so many things you have to account for when training a puppy. This is a great place to start for sure.
Training a puppy can be pretty complicated, but once you find the right way to do it, it gets easier. This puppy’s face is so adorable.
I’m raising a dog but it’s bigger than your dog. Looks very cute, I think raising dogs is pretty simple! 🙂
Wonderful that there is an online program. Friends and family have always hired trainers. Sometimes, it makes sendse to do it yourself.
That puppy has the look on his face like “I did not do it.” Such a cute puppie.
