Caramelized Teriyaki Salmon

The Signature Salmon Recipe From Our Home To Yours
The New Year day and eve we are going to spend together. My hubby has prepped a feast of Salmon to last for a couple of days and to enjoy leftovers with salads and other dishes and recipes I have in mind to cook like fish tacos.
We enjoy days when fish is being served. I add some of the unexpected sides to delight the tastebuds and truly celebrate the variety that can be created with the staple foods we are used to enjoy.
This time, we went with a side recipe that is simple and very quick to prep – a Mixture of Quinoa, Couscous, Split Peas and Lentils. All in approximately the same proportion to each other. We love quinoa and add it to our morning cereals, desserts, salads and everywhere where it can only be added. Quinoa boasts of 8 Essential Amino Acids that are vital for our bodies to perform chemical reactions. Having a deficit of those amino acids can lead to many conditions that are debilitating.
With quinoa, it is easy to load up on the amazing ensemble of nutrients for our well-being and amazing taste.

Add It To Your Fish!
Celebrate This Teriyaki Salmon – Every Morsel Of It!
- 1/2 cup sake
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon peanut or sesame oil
- 1 1/2 pounds skin on salmon, cut into filets
- 2-3 teaspoons sugar
- In a bowl, whisk together the sake, rice vinegar, soy sauce and ginger.
- Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the oil. Sprinkle the top of the fish with with the sugar.
- Once hot, add the salmon, skin side down. Sear for 2-3 minutes or until the skin is crisp.
- Carefully flip the salmon and cook another 2-3 minutes or until the salmon has caramelized slightly.
- Carefully remove the salmon from the pan.
- Wipe the skillet clean of any grease and add the teriyaki sauce.
- Bring the sauce to a boil and cook for 3-5 minutes or until the sauce has reduced by a 1/3.
- Add the salmon, skin facing up.
- Cook two minutes and then remove from the heat.
- Serve the salmon along side your choice of side dish and drizzled with the teriyaki sauce.
