As you know Christopher Columbus, an Italian-born explorer, used the capital of the Hispanic Monarchy – King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella – to chart the territory to China, India and Asia. Instead, Columbus landed in the Bahamas on October 12, 1492. That date marked the first European landing on the American territories since Vikings.
Columbus thought he found India with its spices and gold and a myriad of captives. But later in his life, he realized that America was an unknown to the Europeans continent and territory.

Didn’t do anything out of the ordinary for Columbus Day, but I did make some delicious hamburgers for myself and the husband. I’ve haven’t made hamburgers before.
AND I put my 7 1/2 month old (almost 8 month) to bed in her crib for maybe the 3rd time in her life (we’ve co-slept since birth). She slept for about 45 minute before i had to go in, swaddle her, rock her back to sleep and place her sleeping self in her little bunny chair. It’s a start 
good Columbus Day for sure 
Had a cookout with my grandchildren!

Nothing special but did enjoy the beautiful weather here in Central Texas.
For Columbus Day I went to the In-Laws and cooked a great ham dinner and apple crisp for dessert! WE also decorated for Halloween!
Volunteered at the kid’s school, then got them haircuts (picture day tomorrow), made a thai beef salad for dinner (yummy) and now getting ready to read, then sleep.
